This is not....I will repeat...not the #1 defense in the league. I don't know who is, but I know it is not us.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is absolutely crazy.

Yes. we need some optimism around here.

Uhh, hell yeah we're the #1 D in the league. Sure we had a bad 4th quarter/OT but it happens. And plus we don't have Troy in the lineup.

You people gotta chill. I'm as sick as everyone else from the Kansas City loss but hey, it's the NFL. A kickoff return here, an interception return there, cancel out 500 yards of offense and you get yourself an upset. The AFC North is still wide open, especially with Cincy being as unstable as they are.

In '05 it was a similar situation. But we still came out of it with #5. Believe it, and it will happen!

Our defense is great except when it actually counts.

Whenever we have a game like this, it's useful and therapeutic to remember December 8th, 2002 (http://www.post-gazette.com/steelers/20021209steele1209p2.asp).

We haven't stunk... I mean sunk to that level again since (nor has anyone else, I suspect.)

that was bad...really bad...but losing to a team after only giving up only 3, 1st down and 47 total yards ? :banging:

"That," said receiver Hines Ward, "was the most crappiest performance."

What year was that, and was that Browns team as bad as the '02 Texans or the '09 Chiefs? I have to doubt it.

LOL I can't believe someone is trying to take something positive out of the most embarrassing Steelers loss to an inferior opponent in years?

I guess we could use more Glass Half Full fans to balance out the negativity, though.

And the abolsute worst EVER special team's. We are so bad they ranked us 99, so the 31st team didnt get offended that we were only one spot down from them.

Our def has given up 11 tds? Not sure if I heard this right, and our ST's 8?

This guy still has a job? There was a top Special teamer just cut last week by some other team, did we even say hi to the guy?

our D is nowhere near number 1 without Troy. it seems like all these 4th quarter meltdowns have happened only when Troy is out. it was the friggin Chiefs without Dwayne Bowe.. and we killed Cassel last year with a 10x better supporting cast around him. this was an embarrassing game.

If this year's version is the #1 defense in the league, then the NFL has issues.

Wow, I'd blocked that out.

Have the last four expansion teams beaten us in their first season?

If this is the number one defense, then it's a sure sign that the NFL has transformed into a league that doesn't play defense.

Look....all these ratings and what not are great, buuuuuuut....

I am finding the closest mannaquinn factory and buying up all the hands I can afford and sending them to our cornerbacks....there is bound to be a pair in there somewhere and they could sure use them.

More like a pussified league that doesn't allow teams to play defense.

Which lever do I pull to vote for this option. Thank You Mr. Commissioner.

Yeah, if I head one more analyst go on and on about how wonderful the Steeler defense is, I'm chucking my TV out the window. Since Troy got hurt the first time, the only games where our defense was consistent were the Minnesota and Denver games. They did okay versus Cleveland and Detroit I guess, but those team suck so bad that we should have completely shut them out. The same with KC. But we didn't because if we're making multiple TDs, we have to let the other team do the same.
