I normally try to stay away from here on game day mainly because I focus too much on the game. Anyways, I'm not gonna sit here and start another "We suck, fire or cut this guy...:blah:". While I don't know what's wrong with the Steelers this season, it happens. I'm just glad we have the opportunity to watch and root for this team. One bad season isn't going to kill anybody. We're not the Lions or Browns or *insert other historically crappy teams*. We're the Pittsburgh Steelers. We've had bad seasons before. But we'll get through it. We don't have those six Lombardi's for nothing! The season ain't over till the fat lady sings, damn it! :chuckle:

Here We Go Steelers, Here We Go!

Its easy to pinpoint...a couple key injuries have derailed this season..esp on defense...

I agree with ya on that one. It's hard to be at the top of your game when your key players aren't playing. Every team goes through it at some point in time I suppose.

I don't put the blame on injuries, so much as the fact that we've been about as well-prepared as a college kid with a hard-on running up to the 7-Eleven counter at 2 a.m. to buy condoms.

We either were not ready for the season, or we've forgotten how to handle pressure, or something stupid like that. We should've won most of those games despite the injuries, but the fact is we just collapsed when it counted most.

It cant be understated just how important Troy is to this defensive unit. A true game changer if there ever was one. Boy, do we miss this guy.

Agree completely. It wasn't the injuries. This team got fat and soft this year.

You do realize that with Troy in the starting lineup playing a full game, Pitt is undefeated ? There might be other issues but the biggest is 43 not being able to compete and that changes the entire dynamic of what LeBeau can do. Carter is nowhere close to 43. 43 makes everyone elses job so much easier. With a healthy Troy we're not even having these discussions.

Look obviously Troy is simply a once in a generation talent. But he wouldn't be stopping special teams tds. He wouldn't be stopping pick-sixes. He would't be stopping red zone ints. And I don't believe that one player being out should ever m,ake that big of a difference. Lebeau just doesn't like to bring the kitchen sink blitz enough for my taste. The drives we gave up against the bengals in the first game and today against the raiders would not have happened anywhere near as easily againsta rex ryan d or the late jim johnson. When you have Harrisson Woodley and Timmons the qb should always be worried for his life.

With that being some what true, its hard to believe what the Steelers would do when Troy's gone for good. What would the excuse be then?....The whole team isnt playing well with or with out troy.
