Suit: Bengals star Chad Ochocinco bagged car loan
By Kimball Perry • kperry@enquirer.com • December 7, 2009

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco burned his opponent Sunday for over 100 receiving yards and a touchdown - but he may need a ride to the next game.

The player was sued Friday in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court by Daimler Chrysler Financial Services, accused of not paying for his 2008 Dodge Challenger.

Ochocinco bought the car Aug. 12, 2008, using his former name, Chad Johnson.

He paid $55,5487.35 for the vehicle but put $20,000 down on it, getting a loan for $37,975 for the car he bought from Northgate Chrysler Jeep.

The suit accuses him of being in default on the loan, having paid $3,200 on the car in 13 months.

It claims he owes $34,709.72 on that loan plus 15 percent interest annually from Sept. 10, 2009, likely the last payment the company received on the car. His monthly payments are $847.11.

Ochocinco didn't immediately respond to a request for comment left with the Bengals public relations staff.

He can afford a few million dollars for a fine because he's a jackass......but he can't make a car payment of $800/month?

Talk about having your priorities effed up.

Take the gold teeth out and use them to pay the car off.

Chad Ochocinco is donating dinero to the NFL yet again. The Cincinnati receiver is being fined $30,000 for his latest stunt -- donning a poncho and sombrero after scoring a touchdown this weekend -- a person in the NFL said. Ochocinco wore a gray poncho and black sombrero after catching a touchdown pass in Cincinnati's 23-13 victory against the Lions Sunday.
:toofunny: what a freakin idiot....

He just got fined $30,000 for his stunt on Sunday. There's alot of people out there that wish they made 30 grand a year. And he pisses it away to wear a freakin' sombrero after a touchdown.

You know, Deion Sanders annoys me like crazy. Every once in a while he does say a few things that make sense. When player salaries came up and the financial trouble so many players seem to have, he said something to the effect of "These young boys become millionaires so quickly and turn into rich fools." I'd say that statement definitely applies to Mr. Douche-o-Stinko. What a moron.

It's always better to hang on to your money then to let someone else hold on to it. I'd rather the money sit in my account and buy the car with someone elses money if I have the choice. Then I can invest my money in something else besides a depreciating asset or keep it for rainy/tougher days

Sounds like he doesn't know how to buy a car though.. that deal sucked! 15% interest and 841/month on a 37k loan? It's no wonder these guys go broke. I guess just because you can catch the ball and move weights around it doesn't mean you're smart.
