I say "coming" and not "going" because I live down the street from the Lions practive facility in Dearborn, MI.

Anyway, do a lot of you guys plan on coming into town to watch the game??

If I don't end up hangin' with my family, I might want to try and find a bar full of true Steeler fans to watch the game.

Man if I could only get a ticket at a reasonable price! I haven`t ruled it out yet, but its not as likely as i would like it to be!

I just can't see dropping thousands of dollars for ONE game regardless of how big a game it is. For those $$$ I'll go to Bestbuy and get a kick ass 50" Plasma TV to watch the game on instead!

Dude, I just moved here last year and I have yet to FIND a decent sports bar!!! Where are they???

My fiance said there are a few but none downtown other then Hockeytown...

Cheli's in Dearborn is cool. I have friends coming up and I am at a loss for where to go to watch the game. Perhaps my living room with the 57" HDTV...

I was hoping to find a bice big sportsbar with tons of Steeler fans. Problem is...I can't find one!!!

There are a TON of Steeler fans headed up there with no tickets in hand...hoping to snag some after kickoff or atleast be in Detroit for the game a local bar somewhere. I'd love to do that but just cant make it.

I think a decision should be made for people to hang at a bar. Now, getting downtown could be tricky, so i propose the Dearborn area because it is a happenin' spot nowadays and there's a few bars to hang at.

So, here's my suggessions (all in Dearborn):

Cheli's Chili bar
Bailey's
Falls Sports Lounge
Biergarten

I think Cheli's would be by #1 choice because it's big and it's a nice sports bar. Bailey's is #2 because it is also a decent size, has a bunch of TV's and has a craplod of beers on tap. Then the Falls because it's not huge, but i think it's got a feel that Pittsburghers would like and they have cheap beer. And then the Biergarten because it's a happenin' place, but small.

We are coming in from Denver and staying at the Econo Lodge in Dearborn. We don't have tickets and plan on just watching the game at a local bar since game tickets are so expensive. Let me know what ends up being the Steeler hang out. Also, I have some buddies that couldn't make the trip so if anyone needs a room I have a couple at the Econo Lodge and it is only 5 miles from the field!!!

For the people wanting to watch the game in Dearborn. I will call Cheli's today to see what exactly they have going on for the Super Bowl. It's literally 2 minutes from my house.

So, I just called Cheli's in Dearborn. It's pretty much first come, first serve and they don't take reservations or anything. The place is a decent size place with TV's all over the joint.

I've been there many o' times for Pistons playoff games and I've seen it packed. There's still plenty of TV's to view when it get's like that, too.

The wife & I are going on Sat. morning for NFL experience etc. We might stay over & party the night before. Still thinking we'll head home before the game for the traditional Steelers House Party. Anyone heard how hard its going to be to get a room around there for sat. nite?

Hey guys! I was browsing b/c I was looking for a place to tailgate, outside of Detroit city. I saw some of you had questions about bars etc. I was a waitress at a sports bar in Troy (about 20 mins north of Detroit) called Spectadium on Livernois just south of 16 mile aka Big Beaver. Big Beaver is exit 69 off of I-75, no joke. Anyway, when I worked there, there were ALWAYS Steelers fans!!! Also, Champps is right around the corner on Big Beaver. Both have LOTS of big screen TVs, in the bathrooms too. I'm not sure about the cover situation, but it won't be as insane as it is in Detroit. We already have tix for a party at a bar in Greektown but they're charging $100 at the door for standing room only. Another very hot spot is Royal Oak, but that will be more of a "bar-ish" scene ie: girls all decked out and guys looking like the BackStreet Boys, LOL. There are several bars w/in walking distance in downton Royal Oak. There is a $2 shuttle taking people to and from Detroit from the Detroit Zoo in Royal Oak also. I would suggest that since they say cars are going to have a hard time getting in the city. A lot of you already suggested all the hot spots in Dearborn, which are great spots too! I hope this is helpful for you guys. Who knows, maybe I'll see some of you around. Good luck wherever you decide to go and have fun!!

So, Cheli's has an outdoor patio that's on the roof of the building and they usually have it closed in the winter, but they are now advertising that they will have a tent overtop of it for the Super Bowl for the whole weekend!

I tell you what, I think that's going to be my destination on Sunday!

Hey Bang, I keep hearing how tight security is etc. You have any idea what its going to be like to get around COBO etc. ? Where to park, are there parking garages there or what?

Not sure what to expect on Sat. Thanks for any info

Honestly, the last time I was downtown was Sunday and I just parked in the Greektown casino lot. However, I will be heading down there in about an hour or so and will let you know what the traffic situation is like. I know my way around the downtown area, so i believe i will be able to weave around all the BS and find a place to park. Keep in mind that the Cobo parking lot is usually the first one to fill up and where Cobo sits can get rather congested.

You also can stop by the Tailgate: http://forums.steelersfever.com/showthread.php?t=4436&page=2

We are also in the process of having a TV in the lot with a generator, and maybe 2 TVS.

OK, here's the deal. Cheli's is going to be open at 11 am, but they are having a SB brunch until 3 and I don't know how early people will have to get there to get a table.

So, I went to the bar I frequent, Falls Sports Lounge, and they are having a SB shindig, but the good thing is the bar doesn't open until 4pm and it's first come, first serve. So, there will be plenty of time to run down to tailgate and then make it back to the Falls by 4. I think that's what i'm doing.

Here's where Falls is at. It's located about a mile away from downtown DEARBORN andi guess they already have a group of Steeler fans showing up.
