Analyzing game pictures and discussing strategy with 8 seconds left and the Browns having the ball. WTF?

Unreal!

The Steelers need to break this relationship up.

Good Bye Arians!

I was just flabbergasted to see them do it, like they had no clue what the situation was, that's all.

I think it can be said that obviously, they didn't. :chuckle:

I agree. Arians makes us the 2002 Browns.

If he did, he had a whole lot of help doing it.

it doesn't surprise that arians had no idea how much time was left in the game

BA: "Ben, what time is our tee time on Saturday?"

BR: "I've got it for 9, but they pretty much let me on whenever I want to."

BA: "Cool! Keep looking at my Denny's Menu here so people think we're talking about the game."

BR: "What? Sorry, I was checking out the blonde in my jersey in the 1st row. Hey, by the way, don't invite any of your buddies from your Browns days. I need to concentrate on my short game and if they're ribbing me the whole time about us losing to them for the first time in like 30 years I'll be really pissed."

BA: "Ya sure, whatever you say buddy."

BR: "OK, clock's at zeros. See you Saturday and remember it's your turn to pick up the egg mcmuffins."

At that point, what should have they been doing?

Ben should have been clubbing Arians over the head with his helmet...repeatedly.

Ben has a lot of input in the game plan. If a clubbing is deserved, then Ben should also be on the receiving end.

Arians is gone...face it and 95% of Steeler Nation is very happy about that fact.

Not yet he's not and 95% of "Steeler Nation" wanted that last year too. Your point?

Probably going over the potential for a hook and ladder play or something like that, maybe a hall mary if Santonio got a good return or even made a fair catch...nothing beyond that I assume...

anyone else think...Its about Effing Time when Holmes went back to start returning punts?

Definitely.

Well, I have mixed feelings about that. He only goes back there if A). they need him to and/or B). the punt is likely to be outside our 20.

No. I thought it was wierd that Logan didnt get any returns after finally having a good game the week before. Also I remember all of Holmes' punt return fumbles in 2006.

That's what I was thinking. Some kind of crazy lateral or Cal-Stanford play.

Or maybe they'd been looking at gay porn all night instead of, you know ... coming up with a gameplan and executing it, and they were just comparing notes at the end.

I don't know. He honestly didn't look that much better than any of the other guys we've got. We have, like ... three or four slightly-above-average punt returners but nobody I really consider "dangerous." But hell, I'd be interested to see what Wallace or Burnett can do.

I think Logan is most likely gone after this year. There's a guy who looked good early but never quite lived up to it.

But not his TD return last year against the Chargers?

Not to mention that the TD pass in the AFCCG was ALL him.

Yeah but look at how many fumbles Logan has on the season. 3 I think on returns.

There is no question that Santonio Holmes is the best playmaker we have on the field at this time.

Troy isn't on the field, so Santonio has the best potential for breaking open a play, whether it be a punt return or great catch in a clutch situation, or a long run toward the endzone on a short slant play. Holmes is our playmaker...he needs to touch the ball at least 10 times a game. Maybe up to 15.

I hate Arians as much or more then anyone but they were palnning for one more play, incase the browns squib kicked it. If the up man got it he would've fell right down with maybe time for one play.It was actually the ONE time all game that Arians was prepared.
