Hey guys, no hating thread...

There are going to be some talented players around in the draft by the time we select now that we are eliminated mathematically from the playoffs...

Available records

6-10 (hope not lol)
7-9
8-8
9-7.

i wouldn't mind settling for 8-8, with two promising wins over ratbird and packs.

p.s i put it here not the war room because it is for the steelers team, but feel free to move it to the war room

People might think im asking to lose lol simply not, all we are playing for now is nothing and someone like rolando mcclain could be available to pick by the time we get there, he is gonna be a monster one day like patrick willis imo.

Winning out and going 9-7 is still putting us mid 1st round so i think we can get a good pick and pick a solid player to benefit us while still winning out.

It sucks this season is over...but it is fun to look at future prospects....

8-8 would be nice, we would be right in the middle of the draft probably between pick 12-17

i hope we go CB or DL/OL.... i would LOVE to get Joe Haden, who could be available for us in our draft position. Arenas from bama would be nice too, but a bit of s stretch (the guy is a FREAK punt returner however)

I want this team to end this season on a 3 game WINNING streak. Nothing less!

At least start next season off these last 3 games.

the pats may want haden lol wouldn't it be nice to take him just before they picked lol.

after the patriots sabotaged us all those years ago with that camera, we take the shutdown corner just before them lol.

I take the Emperor Chaz Noll's philosophy about losing games at the end of the season to improve your draft order. If the Steelers respond over the next 3 weeks, what they reap from doing that will mean more next year than the potential "better Pick," which can never be truly predicted. I'd say the opposite is true as well. If we tank and drop the next three the funk we will be in will be harder to clear away, regardless of our drafting drafting slot. We usually do a decent job drafting late so I think we will do well drafting in the mid rounds. Besides, I'd root for us to win the 16th game even if we were 1 and 15.

I say 9-7. I really want to win the last three games, hopefully with some dominance, so we can have a positive finish and not carry over a lot of doubts into next year. Better to do that than end on a sour note; when that happens, next thing you know, other shit goes wrong. Like Hampton is pissed and refuses to re-sign, or Farrior retires early, or Holmes develops an attitude problem, or any number of things like that.

Plus, far-fetched as it may be, 9-7 is still the only way we could make the playoffs, though the odds of that are basically jack.

I really don't see there being much difference between picking 10th and, say, 16th this year. If we need to reach to get the guy we really want, it's easy to trade up from there.

Oh ... one qualifier I need to add: If losing the last game would let Miami win their division and keep the Patriots out of the playoffs -- THEN, and only then, will I actually be hoping for a loss. It's a rare combination that we'd have nothing to gain and something with such a high spite value could happen.

6-10... I hate it, but gives us a better pick.

I would never, NEVER root for a Steelers loss. Even if we where 0-15 and losing the next game gave us first pick in the draft. I could care less about Miami or the Patriots. I will not betray my team by rooting for a loss.

There are no must-have players in the 2010 draft so position doesn't matter. I'll trust the front office and Tomlin considering they've done exceptionally well with drafting.
