It will be close but I don't know how much they will let him throw the rest of the year. I think they will try to get the running game back before the end of the year.

I think he can get it, he needs 654 yards and in 3 games thats 218 a game. So i think he can get it, maybe not as easy as i would have thought earlier in the year though.

Depends on if his OL and BA's play calls let him stay healthy that long.

If they duct tape Ariens' head and let Ken Anderson call plays, maybe.

That sure would be nice I suppose and I know he could do it. It is something I would watch and look more closely into, but we and this team have a lot of other concerns to deal with.

Nothing big about getting 4000 passing yards when you have a losing record!

I'm pretty sure Ben can and I hope he does!!!

4000 yards is a surefire way to have a losing season. There are at least 3 of the games if we would have established the run instead of just chucking the ball downfield, we probably would have won. 4000 means nothing.

Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, say otherwise. Its all about how you execute the playcalls.

This is where the NFL is so warped these days. If Ben throws for 3,300 yards in a season and the team goes on to win the Super Bowl, it was the defense that really won the games. But if he throws for 4,000 yards and the team misses the playoffs, it's all his fault.

I swear, he is the most unfairly scrutinzed quarterback in the entire league.

That's because their teams are built for a passing attack. We have maulers on the line who are made for a rushing attack. That is why it is such a perplexing thing that they insist on chucking the ball downfield which has only worked a couple of times this year. Ben, for whatever reason, is not throwing the ball soon enough or far enough to take advantage of Holmes and Wallace's speed. I don't even pretend that I am an expert on the subject, but the playcalling pretty much sucked the past few games.

Haha, good point. Rodgers was awesome last season but the rest of the Pack needed to step it up. Glad they have this year. I've always like Green Bay, and I still think it was a shame that they didn't make it to the Super Bowl in 07. I really wanted to see Favre and the Pack beat the Pats in the big one. I was never wild about the Giants, but hey, at least they got the job done.

Yeah thanks buddy. I was at the game and that was one of the more depressing moments in my life. We had that game and gave it away. UGH!

Your right, at least someone beat those stupid Pats.

Yeah, true. But it still felt bittersweet because it was like one of those Ultimate Super Bowl stories that didn't happen. Elway got to go out on top. So did Bettis (in his hometown, which was extra awesome). I wanted the same for Favre. He might do it this year of course, but it would have been better if it had been in Green Bay. Oh, well. I think Rodgers will get you guys there eventually; possibly even this year.

That being said, I still hope the Steelers beat you guys on Sunday, so they can salvage some shred of respect amid this horrible season. Although I'm not counting on it.

I know how you feel, we were 6-10 last year after hosting the NFC Championship the year before. God it sucks!

AROD always gets left in the dust when people talk stats, I wonder why? I think it is because he hasn't won enough big games yet, but his stats are phenomenal!

I know it will be a good game, I cannot wait. Just pray for no injuries to either side. It may be a defensive struggle!

It is not desirable for BB to look back and say he set a team passing record in a poor season. That is not how champions think, it is all about winning and losing.

Ben only needs about 151 yards passing to reach 4000

Mendy only needs 22 yards rushing to hit 1000 rushing

Ward hit 1000 yard rec today, and holmes was already at 1000 yds rec.

Such a shame the defense cant play for shit this year or we would be a pretty dangerous team.

Yeah, when they released that supposed poll of 250 NFL players (or whatever the number was) that all said he was the most overrated player in the league, it seriously pissed me off. What a bunch of jealous douchebags. I'd like to see any of them (and I'm sure there were plenty of quarterbacks in that group) do what Ben did yesterday.

A 4,000 yard passer, TWO, yes, TWO 1,000 yard receivers, and a 1,000 yard rusher and people still blame the offense.

Its that Bruce Arians guy! his playcalling makes the defense worse because it makes the defense stay on the field 3 minutes longer!!!

well, it'd be one thing if wins were determined by total yards, but its points that win games. We can rack up the yards, but if we can't punch it in to the endzone on a consistent enough basis we're not going to win as much as we should be with gaudy stats like that.

Plus 700 yards for Heath, another 600 for the Rookie of the Year... :tt02:

I never expected to see those kinds of numbers from a Steeler offense.

That's probably because A) their offensive coordinator doesn't develop Down Syndrome once his offense moves inside their opponents' 20-yard line, and B) their return units are good enough that their offense doesn't start every goddamn drive inside their own 20-yard line.
