CBS Sports reports Pittsburgh Steelers TE Heath Miller broke TE Eric Green's single-season reception mark for a Pittsburgh tight end with his 64th catch late in the game against the Packers. Green had the old mark with 63 grabs in 1993.

he has set personal highs with 68 receptions and 698 yards and is 2 off his mark of 7td's. his brilliantly athletic reception in the final minute was instrumental in yesterdays win, and i dont think he has dropped more than 4 passes in his entire career.

way to earn that new contract! :hatsoff:

Heath has been one of my favorite Steelers since we signed him.

The dude is big, talented, and humble.

It's tough to bring him down...and you know he's going to lower a shoulder if you're coming at him.

he is 3rd in the afc in rec yds (of course behind gates and clark).

i think 3 per conference are invited to the pro-bowl, so this should definitely be his 1st trip.

(sorry heath, you dont get to go to hawaii though.)

I could be wrong, but I thought it was only two tight ends in the Pro bowl? But regardless chances are good Heath will end up in Miami being as either Clark or Gates will be in the SB so will automatically be held out of the Pro bowl.

Yeah and it sucks too cause he is light years ahead of those two in blocking skills.

I'm a huge fan of Heath as well. Wouldn't trade him for any other TE in the league.

Would love to see him get that probowl nod, he's earned it.

Heath Miller = Quintessential Tight End.

He's not fast like some others we see in the league, but runs good routes, blocks well, and magnificent hands.

Isn't that what TE is supposed to be?

Is and has been the most underrated TE in the AFC and prob. the entire NFL. Its a shame his chances of making the pro bowl are limited because he deserves it over most!

I'm not sure of another TE in the NFL I would want instead of HM.

What a solid pick up for us in that draft.

he also set the team record for steeler tight ends....

Record-breaking day

Besides Roethlisberger's yardage totals, several other team records were set Sunday. Green Bay linebacker Clay Matthews had two sacks to establish the Packers record for most by a rookie. He also had a third overturned by replay.

"It means a lot, but it would have meant a lot more if we won today," said Matthews, a first-round pick from Southern Cal.
Pittsburgh's Hines Ward surpassed 1,000 yards receiving in a season for the sixth time most in Steelers history during the same game in which he had at least 100 yards receiving for the 25th time in his career. That tied Hall of Famer John Stallworth for the most by a Steelers player.

Heath Miller had seven catches for a career-high 118 yards to give him 68 for 698 this season. It was his second career 100-yard game, and he set a new team record for most catches in a season by a tight end. Eric Green had 63 in 1993.

Congrats to Heath he is one heck of a player. He probably has the best hands of anyone on the Steelers. It is just ashamed that we have to leave him in alot to block or his numbers would be better.

Grats to Heath! I'd love for him to finally get the recognition that he deserves by making the Pro Bowl.
