With a win, we can't be eliminated this week...that's all we need to worry about. WIN

Shouldn't have shit the bed to Cleveland and Oakland.

Win one of those games and this isn't even an issue right now.

We either need the Pats to beat the Texans or the Raiders to beat the Ravens.

It'll happen... we'll make it! :tt02:

Root for Denver to lose to Philly.

Pentheon

Did they announce Bradys isnt gonna play? Even though they are clinching today I think they might let their starters play for maybe a half if not the full game.

I hope so

BlastFurnace

Perhaps....Maybe...if Cincinnati wins today...with both NE and Cincinnati being 9-5...Bellichek will want to play for the 3rd seed instead of the 4th seed. One can only hope.

basically we need a raven loss to a horrible jamarcus russell, or a texan loss to the patriots 2nd string team at home..........no shot

Hopefully they lose to New England, Denver loses to Phili, and we beat Miami next week. We've got the best road to the playoffs.

Jags and Dolphins out. Eagles need to beat the Broncos and the Colts need to beat the Jets this week. Worry about the rest, next week.

What the... who said Brady is sitting? the game just ended guy, nothing's been announced. Don't make statements out of assumptions. Using your logic the colts would be resting Manning too, which isn't happening.

cubanstogie
12-27-2009, 04:20 PM
NE might not rest their starters. They want seed 3 over 4 so they would play Chargers instead of Colts in playoffs I would think. I don't think Belicheat would settle for 4th when he could have 3, although its not a huge difference. Go Eagles, Im not sure what we need if the Broncos happen to win.

and the ravens losing to the raiders? We did just a few weeks ago.
This is why they play the game

Every scenario I check we have the tiebreaker over Houston. Just need Den and Jets to lose.

..... I'd need a clothes-pin the size of the arch in St. Louis to hold my nose while rooting for Philthadelphia.....

..... but I'm willing to take-one for 'em Stillers, if'n that's what is necessary

Not much difference between the #3 and #4 - they both get a WC game at home.

Yahoo playoff generator is bugged, no matter what happens we don't get in according to it right now . . .

Yeah true, but knowing Belichick, he'll want the #3 seed just because. He doesn't care about minutia like that.

Pretty simple. Denver has to lose to philly. Jets gotta lose to the colts. We gotta beat miami obviously (hopefully troy will be back). And texans gotta lose to the pats next week, or baltimore has to lose @ oakland, which sounds farfetched but oakland has surprised a lot of teams this year.

Pretty sure DEN has to lose 2, they have 5 conference losses we have 6.

we only need the broncos to lose today and the jets to lose to the colts then pats to beat texans next week

and we gotta win of course..

all of that is very possible.

But the Steelers beat them, and that is the first tiebreaker. So if they end up tied, the Steelers get the spot.

Ok, working now, from what it seems Denver, Houston and Jets have to lose 1 game for us to get in, so root for the Eagles, Colts this afternoon. Need to root for (vomit, hack, cough) NE next week and depending on the outcome of this afternoon possible need to root for the Bungles over the Jets next week and KC over Denver.

It comes down to next week Fn Miami couldn't beat the Texans. If the Pats don't beat the Texans it Curtains for the Steelers.

If they lose they will be 8-7...were 8-7 we beat them on Monday night...we have the head to head game over them which comes first.

Actually, Tennessee losing to SD on Christmas is the killer right now. Believe it or not, if the Titans had won and finished at 9-7 the Texans 9-7 would be negated and that would have given us the Tiebreaker and the playoff spot in that instance.

Pentheon

i think the jets and broncos will def lose today
so all that leaves is ravens and texans

oakland beat us with no russell,, hes horrible, ravens will take care of them,

On top of the fact if they win (and we win of course), we would be the 6 seed playing none other then.....the Patriots.

I doubt the Pats will want to lose to the Texans only to have to play them again the following week in the Playoffs...especially...I don't think they'll really be thinking "keep the Steelers out" and lay an egg...The Patriots don't fear the Steelers....they have our Number historically in recent years on the playoffs...the last thing they'd want is to lose, only to get the same team again the following week coming in with confidence...

at least...that's how I see it.

Pats will be playing for the 3rd seed, the Belicheat likes to run up points he won't sit his starters.

Yea, when i think about it more realistically the patriots wont lose on purpose just to avoid the steelers...i just hope they can win and then we can thank them by knocking them out of the playoffs in the 1st round! :chuckle:

From what I've seen, when they play on the road the Pats defense looks as bad as the Steelers.
