Time to tell us about "your guy"..and who you like in thye upcoming draft.

My criteria for players is:
1) at least 2 solid years of production...
2) good character and
3) high motor

I have been pimping my first two players for several months and both have climbed the draft boards.

NT Dan Williams, Tennesee, 6’3 327 lbs.
2008: 48 Tackles... 8.5 Tackles For Loss, 4 QB hurries and 1.5 Sacks
2009: 62 Tackles....8.5 Tackles For loss2, 9 QB hurries and 2 Sacks

Williams has gone from being a 7th round/FA prospect to a 1st round prospect who may have surpassed Terrance Cody as the best pure NT in the draft.

ILB Micah Johnson, Kentucky, 6'2 258 lbs
2008: 87 tackles 2 forced fumbles
2009: 105 tackles 1 forced fumble

Great athlete who fills the run lane immediately...might be the best ILB in the draft when it comes to falling back into coverage. Tore his MCL in last game of the season, so a team that can afford to be patiant may get him at a discount.

FS Nate Allen, South Florida, 6'2 206lbs
2008: 53 total tackles 1 interception 1 sack (in 2007 he had 81 tackles and 4 int's)
2009: 79 total tackles 5 interceptions 1 Forced fumble

2nd round prospect who would fit well into a zone coverage defense. Strong enough to attack the line of scrimmage and fast enough to cover center field.

Sounds like fun LLT

I am going to give my sleeper pimp picks. I am a bit like Texasteel in that I believe I am the kiss of death for my first round pimp picks

Sleeper Pimp pick 1
Kerry Meier Kansas WR 6’3 220 lbs
2006 99 rushes 344yds 5 TDs, 104 – 184 passes 1193 yds 13 TD’s 10 Int , 4 punts 129 yds
2007 26 receptions 274 yds 2 TDs 25-29 275 yds 3 TD’s
2008 97 receptions 1045 yds 8 TDs
2009 102 receptions 985 yds 8 TDs

Meier came to Kansas as a QB / punter prospect. He was moved to WR to get onto the field to help team when he became the QB backup. He doesn’t attract a lot of attention due to the presence of Dezmon Briscoe. Also serves as backup QB, punter and is the current place kick holder. He will do anything to help a team. Round 7 – UDFA

Sleeper Pimp pick 2
Rennie Curran Georgia OLB 5’10 222lbs
2007 53 tackles 3 sacks
2008 115 tackles 3 sacks
2009 116 tackles 0 sacks

Is a Small Outside linebacker with huge motor and roams all over the field. I am taking a huge gamble here and I am going to suggest that he is the ideal candidate to convert to SS to become Troy Polamalu’s backup. The tape I have seen suggests that he is strong in the box and can cover any TE in the open Would be a demon on special teams. Round 3 - 4

Joique Bell, the RB from division II Wayne State is starting to get noticed by scouts. I had him as a 7th rounder in hopes of him sliding under the radar. He is now considered a 4th rounder.

We will all be able to watch him at the Senior Bowl...he won the Div II player of the year, which gave him an automatic invite.

Here are some stats for this kid.

Height: 5-11 Weight: 224

100 career touchdowns (88 rushing, 8 receiving, 4 passes)
8,055 all-purpose yards
6,728 career rushing yards
152.91 rushing yards per game
576 career points
13.1 points per game career average

That the problem with sleepers LLT. If you can find him, most likely so will someone else, usually someone ahead of you in the draft.

I would really like to see us get Pat Angerer out of Iowa. He has better numbers than Micah Johnson. And he has only started these past 2 years because he sat patiently waiting his turn to get a start. He lead the team in tackles 2 years running, both his only years starting. Also had 5 interceptions his first season starting, practically unheard of for an ILB. Also named one of the team leaders each season he started. Although not as physically gifted as some, he makes up for it in determination and work ethic.

Pat Angerer
Height: 6-1 Weight: 235

2008: 107 tackles, 45 solo, 6.5 tfl. 1 sack and 5 ints
2009: 135 tackles, 41 solo. 1 sack 2 ff and 1 int

His production has been amazing and he is rated at a 3-4 round talent at the moment. Plus the black and gold suits him as I've said before.

If you are going to watch the Orange Bowl to see how Bryan Bulaga performs keep an eye on Pat Angerer on the other side of the ball. His number is 43 :helmet: I'd be happy seeing both back in the black and gold next year.

Greg Jones ILB (JR)
i think if he declares he will be a late 1st or a steal in the 2nd

His career-high 141 tackles this season rank as the eighth-best single-season total in MSU history.
Has posted double-digit tackles in 15 of his last 19 games overall, averaging 11.9 stops during that stretch. The Cincinnati, Ohio, native has led the team in tackles in 22 of the last 25 games.
Has 346 career tackles, including 36 for losses (139 yards) and 15.5 sacks (87 yards). He currently ranks tied for ninth in the school record books in career tackles. His 36 tackles for loss rank fifth on MSU’s all-time list and his 15.5 sacks rank tied for sixth in school history.
Ranks fourth among NCAA FBS active leaders in tackles, averaging 9.1 stops per game.
Jones has started 32 of 38 career games, including 26 consecutive starting assignments.

My guy looks like he is having a pretty good practice so far at the Shrine game

Here are some positive quotes regarding his practice so far

DAY ONE - WEST TEAM Kerry Meier (Kansas) is a very intriguing prospect because of his size and athleticism. The converted quarterback is a savvy route runner, and knows how to find the soft spot in a zone. Meier also knows how to come back to the quarterback to help with a completion. I like the way he squares his shoulders to the line of scrimmage and presents a big target.

DAY TWO - WEST TEAM Kerry Meier (Kansas) has great footwork and sideline awareness. When the receivers were working with Keenan McCardell on sideline routes it was Meier that stayed in bounds on every catch. He can go high for catches, or scoop them off the ground. I also saw him catch the back half of the football with his fingertips. It was an amazing catch that highlights just how strong his hands are. He did have problems running comeback routes, and needs to clean up his footwork.

DAY THREE - WEST TEAM Kerry Meier (Kansas) had good hands today, and showed the ability to hang onto the football after taking big shots. He can adjust to poorly thrown passes (and there were a ton on the West side) and knows how to use his big frame to shield defenders away from the ball.

I will just keep pimping him up and someone like the COLTS will steal him from me. :hunch:

Got to pimp Jeff Byers C from USC he is a six year player who was starting by the end of his freshman year . Had two injuries in his sophmore and junior years but got a med redshirt to play his sixth year so the guy has experience. If you want to check him out go to(footballsfuture.com) and look under the draft sleepers. Pretty impresive sounding and could be a steal.

Also got to pimp Earl Thomas not much to say other than go get him FO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thought I would throw out one of my favorite players. Senior halfback and Pittsburgh native Eugene Jarvis from Kent State.

http://theredzonereport.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/eugene_jarvis.jpg

Height: 5'5''
Weight: 170lbs
Career Carries: 666
Career Rush Yards: 3,426
Career Rushing TD's: 26
Career Receptions: 70
Career Recieving Yards: 743
Career Recieving TD's: 4

I think that Jarvis could end up as a Sproles/Logan type of back. Obviously he isn't going to be able to carry the load at his size but could be a change of pase back. Plus he small so there isn't a lot of him to hit. He would, more than likely, have crossed the 4,000 career rushing yard mark this season but was sidelined with a kidney injury in the second game. He has been a starter since his freshman season (redshirt freshman) and has aveaged over 4 yards a carry every season. Not to sure about his other stats like 40 times and cone drills but should be able to find them when the combine and pro days come around. Not looking for Pittsburgh to draft him (if he gets drafted at all). Just throwing out a name of a college player that I have followed.
