as fun as this balt ne game is im really getting hyped for packers/cardinals. should be the best game of the weekend, especially that it matches our old offense with our old defense.

I think the Cards win this one b/c...

1) The Packers showed ALL their cards last week, while the Cards rested their entire unit and showed nothing. The Pack is in for a rude awakening.

2) Assuming Baltimore hangs on, I'll be 0-3 with my picks this weekend. I picked the Cards, so I can't imagine myself being 0-4.:wink02:

food for thought. it was noted that the cardinals are the best team in the red zone.

on 1st and goal from the 1 they dont even need their power back, beanie wells. they simply hand off to hightower and score.

seriously, can anyone tell me why we shitcanned krieder and kuhn? i mean i get that arians offense doesnt believe in a fullback and a true fullback is considered a waste of a roster space if they are not multi dimensional.

but we have summers, johnson, mchugh, and davis all trying to pretend they are a FB.

wouldnt it make sense just to have a true FB and open up an additional 3 roster spots?

it has to actually be a forward pass to be an int....it was a fumble... he was pulling the ball down just like brady was when the "tuck rule" came into play...

its in the stats as a fumble....

it was a fumble. even if it wasnt, it coulda only been declared a forward pass or the tuck rule. being that the ball never hit the ground, a forward pass or tuck rule ball is still live to be advanced or intercepted.

my point is, he was pulling the ball down so the tuck rule should have been called. just because the ball didn't hit the ground doesn't make it a forward pass or an interception...lol ...

i think its the dumbest one in the book. you get fumble immunity ? but anyway iif they are gonna call it be consistent with it. he WAS pulling the ball down, so it should have been called. the arizona fans whined up a storm about them not reviewing the last fumble in the sb...i bet they are not complaining about this one not being reviewed.

what does the ball hitting the ground got to do with it ? they called it a fumble, which is what the tuck rule nullifies....he WAS pulling the ball down when it got knocked out of his hands.

Yeah, but if the defender caught it before it hit the ground, then it's still an interception. (I think) :uhh:

It's a weird rule.

I know this is really late....but...

The ball would have had to hit the ground for all the tuck rule BS.

The refs didn't whistle the play dead...and whether it was a fumble or an incomplete pass due to forward motion of the arm, the ball never hit the ground, therefore it was in play.

yes your right...my bad.. i just looked it up... in order for the tuck rule to be called it has to be able to be called an incomplete pass instead of a fumble...it never hit the ground so it can't be called incomplete.... :hide:

tony hipchest
01-10-2010, 09:05 PM
maybe this will clear it up...

the tuck rule can only be the determining factor between an incomplete pass or fumble ( which place a pass can only be deemed incomplete once it hits the ground), not a fumble vs interception.

what im saying is the tuck rule is dependent upon the ball actually hitting the ground.

edit- looks like glace cleared it up quicker.

Shea
01-10-2010, 09:18 PM
What's ironic about the play was that it looked like Rogers, at the last second, caught sight of the loose ball and his reflexes took over and he seemed to somewhat intentionally kick at the ball, putting it in the perfect place for Dansby to intercept it.

Had that not happened then the ball would have hit the ground.

Great game today though, really enjoyed it. Hope that next weeks match-ups will be as entertaining.

yet you don't have sour grapes that the Packers made it in to the playoffs when we beat them?

I have sour grapes for any of the 12 teams that make it into the playoffs instead of us

I'll probably be rooting for the Cards most of any of the teams now that the Steelers aren't in it, especially because of what we did to them last year. XLIII was perhaps the greatest Superbowl of all time and both teams played well enough to deserve to win but we were the ones that came out on top. I actually felt sorry for them for coming so close, and even though I wouldn't want to spot them a mercy SB win over us in a million years, I still felt the tiniest bit sorry for how close such a beleaguered franchise came to winning it all, and against all odds
