Round 1: Earl Thomas, S, Texas
-We need secondary help. Should be a top talent.

Round 2: Kristofer O'Dowd, C, USC
-It's no suprise that the Steelers take an O-Lineman in the first 2 rounds.

Round 3: C.J. Wilson, DE, East Carolina
- Looks like a 3-4 DE. Hard to come by

Round 4: Ed Dickson, TE, Oregon
-Athletic TE. Let's face it, Spaeth sucks.

Round 5: O'Brien Schofield, DE/OLB, Wisconsin
- Looks like a decent player with potential. Athletic pass rusher.

Round 6: LeGarrette Blount, RB, Oregon
6'2 240. A big powerful runner. Threw the punch. Boom or Bust.

Round 7:Cory Jackson, FB, MD
-A true fullback.....nuff said.

1 why would they spend a 2nd on a center right after they extended hartwig ?
2 they drafted spaeth to use in multiple TE sets and mainly for blocking duties...is a 240 lb TE going to be a solid blocker ?

Couple notes:

Don't forget that we'll get McHugh back from IR next year.

Not sure that the Steelers will touch Blount with a 10 ft pole. An interesting prospect though.

Ed Bouchette mentioned that they tried to sign a CFL Fullback so the FB pick might not be far off.

Might want to fill insome comp picks in the third and fifth rounds.

I'd love to see NT, ILB and another DB in there.

so who are we gonna get a 3rd comp pick for ? mcfadden ? i seriously doubt that. he didn't get a huge contract from arizona. 2 yrs 10 mill ....the avg of the top 5 is 10 mill a year.

Compensatory picks cannot be traded, and the placement of the picks is determined by a proprietary formula based on the player's salary, playing time, and postseason honors with his new team, with salary being the primary factor.

i'd say we MIGHT get a 4th, most likely a fifth and a 5th pick for nate.

They also might add a fullback. Before Canadian Football League fullback Rolly Lumballa signed with the Miami Dolphins this week, he entertained an offer from the Steelers. They have Frank Summers, who could become that fullback, coming off injured reserve.

Oh my god..............does that mean Tyrone Carter is back as the backup to Troy.

Please tell me that aint so.

Sorry for the Carter outburst.............thanks for posting your mock. The more mocks posted the happier I am. Love the Thomas pick............that alone will win you over with the draft geeks here.

O'Brien Schofield is a guy that is getting a lot of attention and a lot of steeler fans across multiple sites are starting to pimp this guy. Keep an eye on him.

I thought Washington got the bigger contract of the two. I think the basis was on first year salary primarily assuming that they play full time. Ultimately it's just my guess -- we should see 2 comp picks though.

Nate 6 yr, 27Million

BMac 2 yr 10Mill, 5 Mill guraranteed.

Also note that the formula involves post-season honors etc. Maybe BMAC can be superbowl MVP to boost our draft!
