View Full Version : Yes Barack , We Noticed

This was written by Sherry Hackett, Buddy Hackett's widow........

President Obama:

Today I read of your administrations' plan to re-define September 11 as a National Service Day. Sir, it's time we had a talk.........

During your campaign, Americans watched as you made mockery of our tradition of standing and crossing your heart when the Pledge of Allegiance was spoken. You, out of four people on the stage, were the only one not honoring our tradition.

YES, "We noticed."

During one of your many speeches, Americans heard you say that you intended to visit all 57 states.
We all know that Islam, not America has 57 states.

YES, "We noticed."

When President Bush leaned over at Ground Zero and gently placed a flower on the memorial, while you nonchalantly tossed your flower onto the pile without leaning over.

YES, "We noticed."

Every time you apologized to other countries for America 's position on an issue we have wondered why you don't share our pride in this great country. When you have heard foreign leaders berate our country and our beliefs, you have not defended us. In fact, you insulted the British Crown beyond belief.

YES, "We noticed."

When your pastor of 20 years, "God-damned America " and said that 9/11 was " America 's chickens coming home to roost" and you denied having heard recriminations of that nature, we wondered how that could be. You later disassociated yourself from that church and Pastor Wright because it was politically expedient to do so.

YES, "We noticed."

When you announced that you would transform America , we wondered why. With all her faults, America is the greatest country on earth. Sir, KEEP THIS IN MIND, "if not for America and the people who built her, you wouldn't be sitting in the White House now." Prior to your election to the highest office in this Country, you were a senator from Illinois and from what we can glean from the records available, not a very remarkable one.

YES, "We noticed."

All through your campaign and even now, you have surrounded yourself with individuals who are basically unqualified for the positions for which you appointed them. Worse than that, the majority of them are people who, like you, bear no special allegiance, respect, or affection for this country and her traditions.

YES, "We noticed."

You are 9 months into your term and every morning millions of Americans wake up to a new horror heaped on us by you. You seek to saddle working Americans with a health care/insurance reform package that, along with cap and trade, will bankrupt this nation.

YES, "We noticed."

We seek, by protesting, to let our representatives know that we are not in favor of these crippling expenditures and we are labeled "un-American","racist", "mob". We wonder how we are supposed to let you know how frustrated we are. You have attempted to make our protests seem isolated and insignificant.
Until your appointment, Americans had the right to speak out.

YES, "We noticed."

On September 11, 2001 there were no Republicans or Democrats, only Americans. And we all grieved together and helped each other in whatever way we could. The attack on 9/11 was carried out because we are Americans.

And YES, "We noticed."

There were many of us who prayed that as a black president you could help unite this nation. In six months you have done more to destroy this nation than the attack on 9/11. You have failed us.

YES, "We noticed."

September 11 is a day of remembrance for all Americans. You propose to make 9/11 a "National Service Day". While we know that you don't share our reverence for 9/11, we pray that history will report your proposal as what it is...a disgrace.

YES, "We noticed."

You have made a mockery of our Constitution and the office that you hold. You have embarrassed and slighted us in foreign visits and policy.

YES, "We noticed.."

We have noticed all these things. We will deal with you. When Americans come together again, it will be to remove you from office.

Take notice.

I hate politics. McCain and Obama are both terrible. And I believe Obama is just a front and is being controlled. Many Politicians are being controlled... just look at Bush, he gave a lot of our tax dollars to big Oil and other big businesses, not because it was good for the economy, but because he was "friends" with the owners.

The Republicans have guys by the name of Tim Pawlenty, Bobby Jindal, and Eric Cantor.

I wouldn't be surprised if Obama suffers a beat down worse then Walter Mondale did. The only good news for Obama is, he can only do 2 places worse. The only thing for him is, that means gets shut out.

Obama's agenda is getting a rude awakening that it needs a change. The Congressional Election Polls are starting to lean more towards Republicans by the day.

If Scott Brown wins the Senate seat in Massachusetts Tuesday, the Dems are in for a full-fledged slaughtering in November. I think Mass has had D Senators since Jesus lost his shoe on the road to Damascus....

The best thing in Brown's favor now? Obama throwing all his support behind Coakley...

So this thread may be "drivel" and "garbage" according to those who consider themselves the SF intelligentsia, but it also very adequately assesses the mood of MOST of the people in this Country right now. They were baited and switched in November of '08, and they are PISSED.

Except for Obama. You know, like how we say sports teams "beat themselves" sometimes?

He's really his own worst enemy at this point. It's pretty bad when it only takes a year before even the same people who voted him in are in the midst of an angry backlash against him.

Speaking of which, do the liberals even HAVE a conscience or a short-term memory about this? If I was out there being that giddy and smug last November, and now this was going on, I'd be pretty damn embarrassed.

I agree friend...and in the spirit of your other thread, I do indeed realize that there is blind partisan politics on both sides of the aisle.

Unfortunately, the only difference between the parties to me is simply the speed at which our REPRESENTATIVES will take us down the wrong road.

That is why I tend to focus on principles and beliefs, because few elected officials are truly representing the American people before themselves imo. :drink:

Well said my friend! I don't care what letter they have after their name, just have some common sense and represent the best interest of all Americans. What ever happened to compromising and finding solutions that work? They need to check their egos and self serving ways at the door and do what they were elected to do. Is that to much to ask? I guess some people would think American Idol would be more interesting that what our (yes, yours too) president would have to say. Very sad.

First,
Do you think that anything that he has to say is truly relevant to the "State of the Union"?
There are protests and Tea Parties and Town Meetings all over the country that are truly indicative of how the Union Is. And he just keeps on ignoring it. He has forgotten that this Great Country is a Republic---that We The People tell him how we want it to be run. Yet he continues to ignore that Inconvenient FACT..

He continues to push healthcare policy that , clearly, this country does not want

He continues to spend money that, clearly, this country does not have--- by ascribing to a theory (Keynesian Economics) which has been shown repeatedly to fail---if you don't know---Keynes proposed that "Stimulus Spending" would help to reinvigorate a dying economy--fact is, it only HELPS to send an economy which is in a Recession closer and closer to a true Economic Depression...get ready, because it's coming...

I could go on and on with this, but I grow weary of it

Secondly,
What business is it of yours how I spend my free time? I, in all likelihood, will read the transcript of his speech---but I simply cannot abide his arrogance (nor Pelosi's) nor his attitude despite the fact that he is in over his head----did he really think that this country would swallow his attempt at converting this country to a Socialist Democracy?
It Ain't gonna happen----We The People won't let it. He's a Lame Duck and only the Sheeple will continue to buy into his rhetoric.

I don't
I Won't.

There's a reason his support continues to plummet in the polls

And, with that, I'm done

You keep on Hoping for that Change that you can count on....

I watched American idol with my 10 year old daughter and THOROUGHLY enjoyed myself.

If I had listened to Obama's speech, it no doubt would have ruined my night.

When I started shouting at the TV, it was time to walk away. Especially when he started talking about helping to create jobs.....By extending unemployment benefits!!! Am I being stupid to wonder how that works?
I had a better time just watching the facial expressions & body language of the Republicans.
IMO it was probably Palin that cost McCain the election...Everyone knew he was old so they thought they could inject some youth & vigor into the campaign with a hot woman with good cheekbones to get the votes in. Too bad she came across as such a dingbat & she still comes across as a dingbat who talks out of both sides of her mouth just like all of them do. What was her experience? I just couldn't see her being taken seriously during a meeting with world leaders from some of these 3rd world countries where male chauvanism is at it's finest-they could care less what the ditz has to say, they would be too busy checking out what's below the neck rather than what's above it (which doesn't seem to be much)
I don't believe what any of them say, they are ALL bought & paid for & until we stop letting the special interest groups contribute to campaign funds, there won't be much change for anybody, Republican or Democrat..Our souls are all being sold to China.

No sign of moving to the center. Attacking republicans, the supreme court, the corporations that aren't special interest groups, and just about everyone else who doesn't think he's savior of the universe. It's been one year and apparently he still doesn't realize he isn't in Chicago, China, the middle east, or Europe because he seems to think that everyone must go along with his policies

An ignorant cheap shot is one mature (at least age wise) woman suggesting a younger woman to go under the desk of the president like you did to me, I dont mind good discussions, I dont mind bickering in posts, but I do mind women suggesting that to other women.

And I mind a snippity newb making snide remarks directed at a very respected member (Indo) who dared to say he preferred to watch American Idol than listen to more lies and drivel spewed by Obaaaaaaaama. Then - you proceed to take a shot at me and expect not to get a poison dart fired back? Surely you jest.

Wow - 6-1/2 years younger than me. You really got me there.
