he should get in not deon sanders, who cares about prime time, he can go mislead rookies into new teams and doing his stupid prime time sequence on nfl network.

I agree. Put the man in the FIRST or SECOND ballot, no further!!

I am planning to go to Canton HOF in 2011 to see him there. Perhaps anyone in the Akron/Canton or surrounding area and PM me and we can meet up or something for that day?

I think it's hard to predict how the powers that be will vote. But if he gets in, I'm the first available plane to Ohio for the ceremony! He's one my top 5 all-time favorite Steelers! :tt04:

HOF is getting to be political B.S.........He passed up in yards Franco, and he went straight in........They gotta up the number of dudes to get in.....There are more teams now..........

Bussie should have 2 more rings.......

If the 5th leading rusher of all time can't get in on the first ballot, there is a serious problem with the HOF process.

In looking this up, I was shocked to see that Corey Dillon has more career rushing yards than OJ Simpson. Hmph.

One of the greatest running backs in the game, he better get in on the first ballad, your some people are gonna be hurting! :chuckle:

JB SHOULD be unanimous first ballot HOF. He's the best BIG RB to ever to play the game. He's the 5th all-time leading rusher. He won a championship.

I can't see how he does NOT get in in 2011.

Bettis and Curtis Martin both Deserve to be First Ballot hall of fame players.

Martin is #4 on the all time list, Bettis is #5. The only active player in the top 10 is Tomlinson at #8.

Fred Taylor is at #15.

The list is
Emmit Smith
Walter Payton
Barry Sanders
Curtis Martin
Jerome Bettis
Eric Dickerson
Tony Dorsett
LaDainian Tomlinson
Jim Brown
Marshall Faulk

If eithe of them do NOT get in on the first ballot then the entire system is flawed.

Especially when that Piece of Crap ranked #21 Steve Young gets in on HIS first year on the Ballot the same year as the #2 (#1 at the time) Passer Marino was on the Ballot. Young should NOT have gotten the nod at all.

If Bettis and Martin don't get in their FIRST year, I'll punch total strangers in the face for 6 years in protest.

There is NO argument against either Bettis or Martin at all. Anyone who tries to tell me otherwise I will lose all respect for as a Fan of the Game and will continue my life believing that person has as much knowledge about the game as a Jaguars fan.

Bettis and Curtis Martin both Deserve to be First Ballot hall of fame players....If either of them do NOT get in on the first ballot then the entire system is flawed.

I think the fact that Dirt is still on the outside looking in and that it took so long for Art Monk to finally get in (and AFTER Crackhead Irvin to boot) are just two examples (among many) that indicate the system is more than just a little flawed.

I hope he gets in first ballot. My father in law is a Rams fan and has a connection for some VIP passes at the HOF. We planned 2 years ago to go together if both Faulk and Bettis got in on the same year. Faulk is a lock in my opinion, and I think Bettis is 50/50% first ballot.

Bettis should get in first ballot being the #5 leading rusher in NFL history. BUT, if only one RB makes it from that class, it'll be Faulk and here's why. Faulk has close to 7,000 receiving yards as well and more TDs than Bettis. I think it's crap because Faulk has played in a dome his entire career but a lot of people look at TDs and total yards from scrimmage.

Here's an even more relevant point though. There's already a grumbling of more than a few HoF voters saying there are too many Steelers in the Hall. If Bettis gets snubbed on his first ballot, you better believe this has something to do with it. I'm not a conspiracy theorist when it comes to sports but if the Bus doesn't drive into Canton in 2011, there's something fishy going on. I was at his last game in Pittsburgh when 65,000 black & gold faithful were chanting "ONE MORE YEAR." Seeing the big man on the Jumbo-Tron with tears rolling down his face was one of my most memorable sports moments. Bus for HoF in '11 :tt04:

It would be great to see the Bus in as a first ballot, but you also have to take in consideration the guys that don't make it this year who will come around again next year. I also don't believe that there will be three RB's that go in for next year's class, but who knows...

The Bus is in the Top Five Big Backs of all time. Jim Brown, Jim Taylor, Larry Czonka, John Riggins, and the Bus, he is a HOF no doubt about it. These jerkoffs who vote are all full of themselves. LC Greenwood and Donny Shell should be in and are not. You really got to be joking.

The Bus deserves to get in on the first ballot. But I don't think he will:

Eligible in 2010: Gary Anderson, Tim Brown, Eddie George, Jerry Rice, Emmitt Smith

Rice and Emmitt are going to get in on the first ballot. Tim Brown and Eddie George won't which puts them on the 2011 ballot. Gary Anderson will wait because he's a kicker.

Eligible in 2011: Jerome Bettis, Marshall Faulk, Willie Roaf, Deion Sanders, Jimmy Smith

Faulk gets in over Bettis because he was an all around back. Doesn't matter if that's fair or not, it's what will happen. Prime Time will get in and this is where I see Tim Brown getting in. Plus there's players from past years to be considered. Roaf has a shot here too.

Eligible in 2012: Tiki Barber, Curtis Martin

Not a lot of first time candidates coming into the picture and Tiki isn't quite HOF material. Here is where the Bus gets in.
