This is very important and everyone should be aware of this. People are dying because of this... Here's the link on how to stop this if this happens to you. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/01/22/earlyshow/contributors/susankoeppen/main6128463.shtml?tag=contentMain;contentBody

We learned that one really early-on autocrossing (everyone gets to experience a stuck throttle at some point): Throw it in neutral. It may destroy the engine, but that can be replaced. And most new cars have rev limiters.

Yeah, what your supposed to do is put it in neutral and the rev limiter will catch it and you'll be safe... Damn "Toy"otas...

If this recall affected Chrysler, it'd be all over the news.

Put the car in neutral, turn the key, hand brake. Please people think and don't panic.

I had an Olds Cutlass Ciera (GM) that did this once. The dogbone mount fractured, tipping the Iron Duke 2.5L back against the firewall, pinning the throttle and cutting through the CPU cable. It was Hell to fix.
I still own GM cars, but they're not immune to this.

that's right, and dont take the key out when you turn it or the steering wheel wont respond
