Cody may have trouble keeping his weight in check, but you have to remember two things.

1.NT is a position where you must occupy two blockers on just about every play. You must then take those two blockers and try to push them back into the QB. If he can do that and disrupt blockers enough to give Harrison and Woodley unblocked looks at the QB he has done his job 370 lbs. or not. Everything I've seen from this guy tells me he is hard worker and will be able to manage his weight.

2.I'm pretty sure if coach Tomlin, being a young coach at the time could handle a fat, out of shape vet like Casey Hampton. Then I'd be willing to bet now that he has a ring and a couple more seasons under his belt he'd be able to keep Cody away from the twinkies. :shout:

i realize that, but if being fat is the basic requirement they can find that in the later rounds. i personally feel picking him 18 is a reach considering there other areas that need addressing too. i doubt there will be a worthy DB or LB to take at 18, but OT bulaga could be there. i think his value is better than cody's at 18.

IMO, hampton was better when he was 325.

Cody's been asked to change his weight around multiple times. Heck, he came into Bama weighing at a reported 400. He brought it down. Other guys in the league have done so as well; remember when Kris Jenkins was tipping the scales at 400 with Carolina?

Cody's weight isn't much of an issue to me. Nothing indicates he has a bad work ethic, unlike Hampton.

I agree with most of that. He looked really bad at weigh-ins, but he also practiced well today. His big issue will be conditioning, and no one can gauge that from Senior Bowl practices. I watched him today from the sidelines and he looked just as good as he did during the season at getting penetration.

You can compare their physiques if you're so inclined...

i read that scouts at the senior bowl practices were disappointed in cody's appearance. they see him falling into the mid-rounds.

He's not falling to the mid rounds. Everything I'm hearing in Mobile suggests that he'll possibly fall into the second, but that's about the extent of it. So many teams play a 3-4 and Cody is a commodity that many of those teams will think about taking a gamble on.

Sporano is well aware of that fact and so are many other coaches.

It's a visual shocker but wasn't he listed at 365 on the progra?. so he's 5 pounds off that's only 1.3% off -- who cares?

If you see him on gameday you can tell the dude is fat. I

I'm not inclined to look at things that say, 'Casey Hampton Naked Picture" for more than a few seconds before I get the urge to gauge my eyes out.

Besides, all you see is his stomach.
