View Full Version : Kerry Rhodes as a Steeler?

Ryan/Rhodes/etc arent saying anything about what might happen with him. I think he is a good player, and depending what happens with Clark, he could be a decent fit. I doubt he'd want to be a backup (or a rotational player)...so if thats the case, I dont see it happening. Plus it depends if they'd just cut him or trade (i'm assuming trade, unless they want to say that bonus money and just cut him). Just food for thought so to speak...since everyone is talking about FA's, possible FA's, trades, etc.

The Steelers don't work like way, unfortunately.

i doubt we sign him, it would be nice but id prefer to get someone like earl thomas through the draft he's somewhat a few years younger than him, so id prefer younger player for the future.

kerrys 27, clarks 30, some people dont want clark back because of his age, but we would only have kerry for 3 years before the moaning starts, a waste of investment when earl thomas who is 7 years younger, and can start for about 8 years for us instead of 3 ;).

I am hoping we can hold out and get Thomas as well it sure would be worth it in the long run.

The Steeler's are not a free agency team and I see that continuing during this offseason. Let's sign Clark and look to draft Thomas.

If the Steelers were to make any splash in Free Agency (doubtful) I would like them to trade for Cromartie from San Diego at DB. I saw an article where he could be had. Maybe our 2nd round pick. James Walker had it on his AFC North Blog.

For those of you saying the obvious, oh the Steelers dont go big in FA's, no crap (though you never know this could be the year they sign/find the next Farrior/Moore/Clark type of impact player). I'm just putting this up for the hell of it and discussion purposes like all the other FA related posts, just to see what everyone thinks about him, could he be a fit and so on. Since there isnt much else going on out there.

if the steelers resign william gay and sign kerry rhodes, half of the secondary and one part of the field is filled with louisville products

Omg, heck no. Rhodes and Sheppard were AWFUL this season. Dont be fooled by the Jet's #1 pass defense, Rhodes was part of the problem, not the solution. Letting Clark and Carter go and nabbing Rhodes is going to mean a repeat of our pass defense from last year.

I would want absolutely NO PART of KR becoming a Steeler. He's got talent but is a pure sissy when it comes to tackling and a coverage liability. Seen enough of this cat to say NO FREAKIN WAY !!

Look for his highlights on youtube or whatever. I guarantee you will see him shying away from hitting ppl. He's soft with a capital S O F T.
