1st Round - 18th Overall Pick
Earl Thomas Safety Texas

http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/6131/ethomas.png

With the Giants releasing Antonio Pierce their sights are set on Rolando McClain, Serio Kindle and Brandon Spikes. With possibly losing another leader (Umenyiora) the Giants will not go safety.

The Steelers need to adress their secondary that lacked talent and depth in the 2009 season. With Ryan Clark possibly being a free agent and over the age of 30 that position will not be held forever. What better way to address the need with Earl Thomas who can also alternate to Cornerback and later to pair up with Troy Polamalu to link a formiddable destructive force where all teams will cry and fear.

In his first year starting (Freshman, 2008) He totaled 72 tackles, two interceptions and broke up 17 passes.

The Good -
✓ Agressive.
✓ Ballhawking Ability.
✓ If selected at 18th he for sure will be the finishing piece of the puzzle to complete Flacco as a bust.
✓ He can actually catch unlike his former team mate Limas Sweed.
✓ Undersized like Polamalu, but with his talent size don't matter.
✓ He has Dreads, Steelers with Dreads look cooler than Giants with Dreads.

2nd Round - 52nd Overall Pick
Terrence Cody Nose Tackle Alabama

One Fat Bastard but that is all what needs when it comes to replacing Casey Hampton this would be ideal. He is also athletic and can slam dunk shooting hoops. Draft Sites list him a two down player. If Casey can play three downs so can Cody.

The Good -
✓ FAT FAT FAT.
✓ Teams run up the middle around 78-80% of the time, him plugging the middle will continue to stop the run.

3rd Round - 82nd Overall Pick
Micah Johnson Linebacker Kentucky

http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/10/micahjohnson.png

Look at those guns, we should just pick him because he would absolutley crush Ray Rices slippery little body for years to come. His hits would make him a Youtube Senation. In a tough SEC Conference he has had some real good games the past two years. The Reason he would slip to the third round is his injury he sustained. Think Dennis Dixon two years back. Unless he's going to the Rams, he's going to be a very good linebacker. He can replace James Farrior once he retires.

The Good -
✓ Big A$$ Gunz.
✓ Efficient Tackler.
✓ Unsung hero for the Kentucky Defence.
✓ Can still have a monster game whilst injured.

These are my first three picks.

Awesome first 3 picks, would love to see this. But do you think Cody will still be available when we pick in the 2nd?

Thanks

I believe so. When he took of his shirt the scouts ran away.

Dan Williams and others are climbing boards due to their athletism

I like it but change Cody to Terrell Troupe or Cam Thomas. Hpwever I think Mica would slip to 4th round due to that injury.
How about 1.Earl Thomas, 2.Maurkice Pouncey(center),3. Myron Rolle or Kam Chancellor and 4.Mica Johnson 5. Linvial Johncon NT
The Addition of Myron or Kam gives us backup Safeties that solid & can hit. Plus both could be groomed as ILB's and have Earl at CB.

I don't see Cody falling to us in the second.

Neither do i see him falling them us, because by the time draft comes around he could be a third rounder.

How do you figure? Because he showed up a little heavy at the Senior Bowl? Shedding a couple pounds for the Combine will quiet any critics.

yea but when he run it all over lmao his boobies will roll.

I see teams getting defensive ends before nose tackles.

I bet he shows well at the combine and at least gets himself back into the tail end of the first .

It'd be a nice 3 picks if the draft shakes out that way.

I could see Micah Johnson climbing since there aren't a lot of MLB guys that are top notch this year.

I do have reservations about him though. He was academically ineligible in 2007. His arms are well muscled but does he have enough muscles between his ears to captain the Steeler D? I trust the team to determine this but I have some doubts.

On the plus side, he's more of a run stuffer so he might complement Timmons well.

Id rather have someone like Dan williams (though i doubt he'd be there in the 2nd) or Cam Thomas, etc...for a NT...not Fat Cody...his weight just worries me too much. Not saying he wouldnt work out, i just think its a risky pick...especially since Tomlin was all over Casey for being overweight....i can only imagine what he thinks of Cody.

I think Cody is still going to be the best NT taken in this draft.

I wouldn't really worry about Cody, just make sure loads of gatorade is on the sideline and that he is just blocking the run.

It's time for Timmons to step up and show himself as a first rounder an show some leadership. Being picked #1 usually means kinda one of the faces of the team.
