What do you all think of him? I think it was one of the biggest mistakes to let Ken Whisenhunt go, as he would have served as a real good coach here. What I saw last season was a sight I never want to see again. Players were playing with absolutely no passion out there. The defense couldn't even wrap people up when they got their hands on them, is that typical of a Pittsburgh Steeler Defense? I think not. And then he comes out with a quote from gladiator stating ''We will unleash hell" only to completely fold to the Oakland Raiders. The next game he says there will be serious coaching changes, but yet nothing happens and we continue to fold to the Cleveland Browns of all teams. I'm just sick of it, he shows no emotion out there as a coach.

Yea he sucks that superbowl he won means nothing and since it was even against Ken it REALLY means nothing......your right hes terrible

this thread will be fun

Now its your opinion to think ken would have been a better canditate for the job, i have no objection to that opinion,( i dont agree with it but no objection) but Mike Tomlin is a pretty darn good coach in his second year he won a superbowl and i really do not think hes entirely to blame for this seasons flaws

and the whole shows no emotion thing....ummm if you have seen a steelers game you clearly see he is a pretty emotional guy and he gets as pumped as the players do after a big play

I mean seriously, how can we even ask that question ?! The two went head to head in the Super Bowl and the coach we chose came out with the W !

Yeah, cause the Cards defense really played with some passion this season.

Look, 3 years, even without a Superbowl win already, is too early to start making these kind of judgments. Whether you like him or not doesn't really matter either...apparently the Steelers FO saw something in him that they didn't see in Wiz, and it's obviously paid off already.

Are things going to be perfect every year? Absolutely not...they never have been under any coach of any team, let alone the 3 the Steelers have hired in the past 40 years. But this teams FO is not like other FO's that bail on a coach after a poor season or two. Everyone has had 3 seasons to adjust and accept this, time to get over it.

Coach Tomlin was the best choice then and he remains best choice now IMO.

I LOVE that he doesn't let his emotions get the best of him in game. We've had 15 years of that rah rah style and imo it's a refreshing change to have Tomlin's demeanor on the sidelines.

Wasn't his fault the D slipped last year. I call it SB hangover. Fact of the matter is he had us fighting and scratching every game imo.

I've always felt that with Tomlin's style this team will NOT seem panicky or flustered when adversity hits in the big games. I think that's bearing itself out.

We just had an off year and need to get some help imo.

I swear to God, if I see one more Tomlin bashing thread or any Tomlin thread at all I'm gonna go off. How about if everyone gets off his nuts already. No offense to the OP, but this is a beaten horse here and has been talked about for so long. You can't blame him completely for last season, there were many factors into the last season we had. We also had a winning season still so I don't know what to tell you. Tomlin does a great job as far as I'm concerned and he's staying.

Wow!!!!!!!! Get Rid of Tomlin

Now please explain to me why because we did not make the playoffs. We did not repeat as the AFC champions? How many coaches that have been coaching as long as Tomlin have won a SB? How many coaches will win more than 2 Super Bowls in their career as coach?

I like Tomlin glad he is the coach and like everyone else I said why did they get this guy as coach in the beginning! (Made the same statement about Cowher).

Tomlin could win 2 more Super Bowls in the next 5 years and one horrible season after that and there will be someone wanting a new coach. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I don't agree with it but hey you don't agree with mine.

The only way we could have kept Whiz is if we fired Cowher on the spot, Whiz was gonna take that head coaching job, I don't think there was anything Steelers could have done.
Tomlin is far from the biggest mistake the Steelers could have made. He won a superbowl, he's motivated the team, not bad at all. I mean of course there are better coaches out there, but Tomlin has been solid.

Yea lets just get rid of Coach Tomlin since it was all his fault for last years 9-7 record and the team missing the play-offs. I don't recall Tomlin missing tackles on defense or Tomlin giving up kick returns for TD's. I don't recall Tomlin missing two field goals against the Bears in a loss. I do agree coaches do deserve some of the blame but the blame must be placed on the entire organization.

I think after a Super Bow win and two play-off trips in three years as HC that Tomlin deserves a couple more seasons as HC before we start calling for his head.

Pursuant to that thread, I just wonder what folks would be saying about Payton if his gamble on the onsides kick in the SB wasn't successful and wound up giving the Colts a short field to start the second half trailing 10-6. But alas, it did work and he's now a genius coach with iron balls because of it.

So what would have happened if Dorothy would have taken the Red Brick Road instead of the Yellow Brick Road?

I mean, she followed the Yellow Brick Road, found some friends, found the wizard, killed the witch, and got home in the end. Maybe she should have taken the Red Road instead? That may have been better for her even though we know the Yellow Brick Road was a successful journey in the end.

And that is how you put a nail in the Coffin of a Ridiculous Thread.

So then I guess you are ready to fire him after one bad season in which they finished over .500 despite the myriad of problems and injuries that the team had.

Typical.

I'm SO glad that it's the Rooney family and not fans like you who run the team, otherwise we'd have a new head coach every damn season. And oh BTW, he likely will be re-signed prior to the start of the season, so you can just forget about the notion that the organization obviously doesn't like him if they haven't given him an extension yet.

God, I really, REALLY hate the offseason!
