where can i find about the steelers cap and how much they play each player? please can u send me a link.... thanks

Why is the cap so low?

I don't want them to be like tha titans in a couple years, releasing big time players

the cap increases several million each year to help compensate for the increase in payouts team must give to players. The Steelers have been working the cap the last few years the same way, and we've managed to keep the majority of the players we wanted too..and bring in some big names at the same time.

But we gotta be careful, walking that tightrope is dangerous..

I agree, I am afraid that we are mortgaging the future somewhat. I completely understand the philosphy, that we are good now, take advantage of it. But I would hat to see us fall to pieces half way through Bens career

the rooney's are definately dead set on this group of core guys we have being the group that can get us to our next championship. u dont see teams keeping near as many of their players these days.. so many times theyjust wanna start bringing in new players every year. credit the rooneys for their vision.. *keeping fingers crossed too*

Here is where I go to get an idea of what we pay. Sometimes not current, but is good because it is always linkable and available as other places take it away from time to time when updating.

Steeler gridiron:

http://www.steelergridiron.com/information/saleries_def.html

John Clayton usually has an update monthly or bi-monthly of all teams:

Hope it helps...

I love Steelers.com but if you had to go to one sight, this is the one. you get all the info you would usually get from nfl.com steelers.com, and pittsburghpost gazette.

Depends on how you look at it...we are actually around 3.4 million, but half will be used to sign our rookies come draft time. So the answer really is yes.

How much will it take to keep Hines happy???

well lets see.. 4 straight 1000+ yd seasons.. 4 straight pro bowls..the leader of the team in yds and receptions every year.. yeah I'd say we're gonna break the bank on him.

Do you think that will be a problem later? I mean is he jeopardizing retiring a Steeler? When this money problems hit in a few years, he`ll be gone. ala troy Brown, Ty Law, Rolle, Mason etc. I would love to see a guy like Hines retire here.

hines is the type that will retire a steeler he has way to much respect for the hole team and himself to leave the city that he loves.he cryed on Tv for bettis come on hes a great person.

I`m not quetioning his respect, more of a question of the Steelers being able to afford him later down the road.

I guess I`m hoping Hines gets what he wants but within reason. get what you deserve but don`t break the bank.

well, its gonna take alot of maneuvering on our part to fit him into the cap in the coming years.. but u can bet ur ass that hines wont have any problems restructuring his deal in the future if need be. its all money, just coming in a different way.

it could be, but this way has been working for us, with the cap that is, for 3 years now, so Im sure we'll run it as far as we can..and Ward would be the LAST person we'd ever release.

If it were anybody else, other than Ward, Jerome, Porter, Ben...I'd be worried.

the last thing i would want is ward to leave

JerseySTEEL

ward isnt going to leave, and the rooney family will make sure of that.

I just hope he is as willing to restructure his deal in a couple years, like his teammates did for him this year

JerseySTEEL

ward has done it in the past and will do it again.
