Press Conference at 2:00 PM EST. 15 are on the ballot, but only 7 get in maximum, I think the following should get in:

John Madden
Troy Aikman
Warren Moon
Art Monk
Reggie White
Russ Grimm
Michael Irvin (Despite anything, He was great.)

You can pick up to 7, who do you think will get in.

Last time 7 were picked was 2001, the year Lynn Swann went in.... on his 14th ballot.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/9207778 -- Emmitt Smith wants Irvin in... He pleads.

My feeling is, if you can`t get in within ten years of eligility. Then do they really deserve it. All personal feelings aside, i do get tired of players who claim to have the most , thta aren`t in the HOF. Example::::: Player X has more receiving yards, than any player that is NOT in the HOF. SOOOOooooo, Somebody has to!

Breaking News: Final 6 are Aikman, Carson, Madden, Moon, White, and I believe... Humphrey? Not sure on the last one, But either All 6, or 3 or something make it. These are not who wa sinducted, these are final people to make it in. No Monk again.

irvin deserves to be in, it's not what you do off the field, it's what you do on it, and he was great on the field.

Two Cowboys got in, so it should keep Skip Bayless from whining about the anti-Cowboy bias.

I agree Irvin deserves to be in, but since he was such a jacka** both during his playing days and since then he will have to sweat it out for another year. I know Lawrence Taylor was more out of control than Irvin, but LT was such a transcendent player (who redefined the LB position) they had to admit him as long as he promised not to do coke during the induction ceremony- Irvin was just one of a number of great players in his time; it's not as if they are refusing to vote in Jerry Rice.

If he was admitted based solely on his coaching record, if Madden deserves to be in then Cowher will be admitted if Cowher were to win tomorrow and never coach another game.

Glad to see Harry Carson finally made it.

Its a frickin joke the big ass Madden is in the Hall of Fame. He didnt deserve it on his coaching ability so he gets in because he says "BAM!" and "Wapp"???

unfrickinbelievable

Irvin should go in due to what he did on the field, but his problems off the field during his playing time doesn't help.I hear in Dallas, instead of buying chalk for the field, they just waited for Ivrin to blow his nose.

And I am totally glad to see Warren Moon did finally make it in,he really deserves it.

The HOF is biased against the Steelers and Bears, because our teams combined make up almost half of the players in the HOF, or something like that.

unfrickinbelievabledidnt madden lose 5 of 6 afcc games? funny you never hear about that.

to their credit, landry, noll, madden, and shula all took alot of sb victories away from eachother. you just dont see this type of dominance in todays football amongst several teams.

But don't forget,Madden was the best damn NFL coach ever! They even named a video game after him!He also is the best announcer to ever grace the booth.

I think Cowher is a lock for the HOF,with or without a SB ring (though he'll have one after tomorrow). But many people (especially Browns fans) will say he needs more to be a HOFer.But they are just jealous bastards.

yeah, a coach that loses that many AFCC games.......oh, wait a minute.......

and you are right, you dont see that kind of dominance, because one team has been winning. with that logic, the Patriots run would have been more impressive if they had lost one year to the Steelers and one year to the Colts. Then you could say "look, what a tough era! Belichick, Cowher, and Dungy each knocked each other off!!!"

thanks for showing how truly spectacular they have been!!

Please tell me you're joking about Madden being a good coach. He was terrible. And he isn't even a good commentator. The man is senile, and I am not looking forward to having to listen to him tomorrow. Since I live in Spokane, WA, I think I am going to have to listen to Tunch and Bill on the internet or something.

Irvin should have gotten in though. His numbers are better than both Swann and Stallworth. I love those two, don't get me wrong, but you couldn't double either of them. Alvin Harper wasn't that good, and Irivin was always double teamed. I think the voters need to open their eyes and let him in. Lawerence Taylor made it in, right?

Just so you all know, John Madden has the greatest winning percentage in history. Tell me how he doesn't get in. He also has a Super Bowl doesn't he?

irvin deserves to be in, it's not what you do off the field, it's what you do on it, and he was great on the field.

Irvin will get in. The voters are instructed to ignore off-field issues and stick to just the on-field aspect. That's how LT sailed in despite his thuggery.

I just read an article about the HOF voters. There are 39 of them, they vote today, and the candidates need 80% of the votes to get in. Each candidate has a presenter who gets to give a speech. Some are long and detailed, but John Elway's presenter simply said "I give you John Elway".

Maybe Stabler...maybe.

Stabler is an interesting case - nobody (including Staubach) scared me more when the Steelers of the '70s played against him (his stats from 1976 are off the charts in comparison to other passers of that era) , but Snake was the Michael Irvin of his day and Dr.Z of Sports Illustrated has euphemistically stated Snake was not always ready for game day all the time.

Glad to see Harry Carson finally made it.

I was wrong - Bayless wrote a column whining about Irvin not getting in.

Funniest part of the column is Skipper throwing Aikman under the bus by arguing Irvin made Aikman:

As deadly accurate as robo-quarterback Aikman could be, his circuits could be easily shorted by adversity. If the Cowboys were losing, Aikman could lose his cool and aim. He wasn't Marino or Elway. He wasn't capable of carrying a mediocre team into the playoffs. Stick him in Arizona, and he would have been just another up-and-down Cardinals quarterback.

He needed Emmitt and tight end Jay Novacek. He needed one of the greatest offensive lines ever. And he often desperately needed the security blanket that was Irvin.

Aikman was a great QB cog for an all-time great offense. But he wasn't an all-time great quarterback or a first-ballot Hall of Famer.

CARSON AND GRIMM ARE NOT HALL OF FAMERS IN MY OPINION.
