Something tells me The Steelers just aren't motivated to play this game....proabably because they know deep down that they aren't the better team.

"I don't know how (the Seahawks) can feel disrespected when everybody had them going to the Super Bowl, anyway. We feel like we're the underdog. Nobody was talking about us."

Don't "get it" yet, Steeler fans?

This is just the next stupidest post in the long chain of stupid posts from fans of a team who have no idea what it is to actually WIN.

The fact that an inept and idiotic homer journalist who clearly knows only a little about the game of football is attached only puts the exclamation point on all this.

That post has to be one of the most ridiculous things I have ever read on SF.. I sure hope you dont plan on gaining any respect on here with that one... :chair:

Save the link. That way, when you're saying to yourself, "how did that happen?!" after the Hawks win tomorrow, you can go back and read it...

Come on now this is the Super Bowl. What player on the Steelers or the Seahawks isn't going to be motivated. They have worked all year for this!

I just had to post to this, cuz this stuff cracks me up.

They just don't happen to be the better team. The Seahawks have the NFL's best record over the past three regular seasons for more reasons than a loud home crowd.

I love this quote for the simple fact its wrong. Lets see now shall we...

Seattle = 32-16
Steelers = 32-16
Indy = 38-10

So how do the Seahawks have the best record over the last 3 years again?

This part takes the cake though and IMO portrays Seahawk fans to a "T":

Forget history, tradition and sentiment. On Ford Field Sunday, the Seahawks line will give running back Shaun Alexander room and quarterback Matt Hasselbeck time.

If he wants to forget history and everything else, why even bring up the fact that the Seahawks do NOT have the best record for the past 3 regular seasons. Seahawk fans love to use their record, their MVP, their stats to show how much better they are, but the second you bring up SOS or anything remotely connected with the regular season they go into the whole "regular season doesn't count man, this is the post-season, 0-0.".

I just find it funny that the writer of that article starts of by saying,

Sure, that reads like a hometown pick. But anyone who has been a regular reader here knows that local-team sentiment appears as often as eloquence in a Bush news conference.

and then does exactly the opposite. The bottom line is this...

Either you use the stats or you don't. Either you use past history or your don't. If it really is 0-0, then no-one can say who will win. It's like the first game of the season man.

However, if you do use the stats, then it shows that the Seahawks have the 3rd worse pass defense of all the teams we played in the playoffs. They had the weakest schedule and had one of the easiest post-season games and that my friends is FACT.

I am off now, I will let you crazy Seahawk kids play in peace now.

Wow, I thought Bengal, Colt and Bronco fans were bad. These morons take the cake. It's bad enough they have absolutely no football history, but they act like complete pricks. Then they wonder why "nobody pays attention to us".

I don't get it, doesn't everybody know that the "we get no respect" card is par for the course in any big game?

The whole thing is irrelevant anyway because what happens tomorrow on the field is all that matters!!

Quiet confidence is the key not media blather.

Yeah, it's been discussed over and over again. That's why I'm trying to figure out why Corky brought it up. We get it. We won four and been to one. I think we have an idea. But thanks for the input and advice.

Yep, but only one team actually ISN'T getting any respect. And if you don't sense it now, you'd better hope we don't lose....

The outcome of this game is in no way correlated with how much a a **** I am before the game- don't worry.

And stop feeling sorry for these guys. They brag about how they'd shoot you for wearing a Seahawks jersey in Pittsburgh and then they want to whine about some random dude talking smack on a football forum?!

If nobody is paying any respect, it may be that none was actually earned.

I respect them but notice my mood....I have already said I am quietly confident that alot of people will be eating crow starting with the talking heads on down. But that is irrelevant to the actual game so whining about lack of respect is just plain stupid for either side at this point.

Personally let the Steeler fans think we aren't physical and so on I for one look forward to tomorrow when the Seahawks disabuse the foolish of that notion on the first drive of the game. If they were foolish enough to ever harrass me for wearing my gear I will personally disabuse them of that also I take that kind of treatment from nobody. Not that it would happen anyway because most people aren't that dumb and if they are they get what's coming.

I hear ya. I took that route for the first week or so, but now I'm fed up of hearing about how we aren't physical enough to play against dudes with long flowing hair or weirdos who have to convince themselves there's a conspiracy against them in order to get up for a game of this magnitude.

I had looked forward to finally getting some praise from the National Media after years of suffering- instead all I hear about is what a great thing a win will be for their backup runningback and how our quarterback is bald.

Whatever- at least this way if we lose I have the satisfaction of having helped ruin a few days for these arrogant Steeler fans...

I doubt the Steelers will take us as lighly as their fans, but we can always hope.

My ideal first drive is a personal foul on Porter after a 20 yard Stevens reception followed by D-Jack schooling Porter, who sold out on Stevens, for a catch at the 3. And we all know who gets the ball at that point....
