Now I know the guy isnt a 1st round pick, but I was thinking maybe 3rd rounder IF he lasts that long and most likely wont. I love this guy and he reminds me so much of the little guy from the Patriots named Wes Welker. I think he could be a great fit in Pittsburgh for our no.3 or a great special team player. What you all think of Shipley? He's bigger than I thought at just shy of 6'0 and 190 lbs. I was thinking he was more like 5'10 180 or something. I love the guy and I could easily see him being with the Patriots.

Before the signing of ARE and Battle i liked the idea. He wouldnt have been our no. 3 even without those guys being signed with ward holmes and wallace, but now with the addition of randle el i dont see us taking a WR at all now

I actually think the Patriots will be the team that takes him.

I love Shipley man and Randel El is not gonna be around forever and Hines is coming to the end as well. I love Hines but there will be a time in the next 2 or 3 years where the Steelers will have a very tough decision to make about him.

I agree and that was my line of thinking before, I still think that way to a point. Im just saying now that we signed ARE this year we will have Ward, Holmes, Wallace, and Randle El as our 4 guys and then battle making the roster as a possible 5th option we might be able to wait until next year to take a WR and address other needs this year, when before when we pretty much only had the first 3 names i thought it would be a good idea to take another guy and have him learn and possible even get the #4 job.

Overall i wouldnt absolutely hate it if we would take him, im just not sure if we really would value a WR this season.

We're already loaded at WR so there's no need to draft one, especially in the 3rd round.

Shipley ran something like a 4.65 at the combine and showed that he will have trouble separating from good CB's in the NFL. He will probably be a 6th or 7th round pick or UDFA. In comparison Quan Cosby had a much better career at Texas and was a UDFA pickup by the Bungles last year.

I got no problem with Shipley late in the draft, but he might be marginally better than Tyler Gresham and not necessary to pick.

Only after our NEEDS are addressed...what's with these "luxury pick" threads?

He would of been a great pick but we dont need a WR until later in the draft. Much Later after our pickups.
We need to get Toby Gerhart and get back to POUNDING THE ROCK STEELERS STYLE.

I like Gerhart as well I would love to see us get him in a Steeler uniform.:tt04:

I love the thoughts of getting back to a power football team, but as long as Arians is around it isnt gonna happen. I know that we have a nice set of WR's as well and its hard not to use them. Right now we havent got a for sure backup RB that has proven they can take a pounding if need be when or if we have injuries to Mendenhall. This AFC North is getting better ever year in my opinion and with the Bengals getting in on the hard hitting defensive style its a 3 team battle for the best defense in our division.4 games vs hard hitting defenses means we need a strong RB corp.

Jordan Shipley is way too old for my liking!!! Isn't he 25 already??? and besides I think that there are better recievers in this draft such as a Mardy Gilyard...but I do like Shipley's workethic and he seems like a good person....but he's freaking old for a rookie WR don't you think??

WE DON'T NEED ANOTHER WR!!! We have 5 competant recievers along with no good DB who has short hair, an aging DL, and an aging past-his-prime ILB. WRs don't win championships, defense does
