Hey I'm curious if anyone knows a place to get a Steelers Cycling Jersey.

I've looked online but came up empty.

Thanks for the help!

If you find one let me know, it'll match my Scott CR1 perfectly!

Got a response from one of the distributors and he basicallys said GOOD LUCK. Getting a license for the NFL or NHL is too highly priced.

I could see that, actually. Too bad, *sigh*

I have looked high and low also and have had no luck. My friend owns Denali Cycles in Rochester, PA and she has looked also, called all her suppliers, and they said "nope". Now, maybe if I go back to Korea I could have one made there, but hopefully I won't be going back to Korea.

Cycling jerseys for people who ride bicycles. Like I said, it'd match my road bike (which is no coincidence in color)...

I work in the t-shirt business and have the NFL license. I never seen NFL bicycling shirts, that would be a great idea all around and would be nice to have in stores.

My opinion is, buy a black and gold/yellow bicycling shirt, find a local silkscreen store or maybe somewhere like dicks and find a Steelers emblem patch. Go to your local seamstress or wherever and get it sown on, which doesn't cost much.

Good luck.

Anytime you need me to take that bike off your hands, let me know! :flap:

I love that thing, :D

Only downside is I sprained my hand last week and it hurts all kinds to ride. Not stopping me, mind, but all the same.

Yeah, I rode with a sprained wrist last year and it sucked. Unlike Stlrtruck, who wants it for free, I will gladly give you $20 to take that Scott off your hands :wink02:

rofl. Y'know, normally I'd be down for that, but don't think the wife would approve. Bigger powers at play, that whole bit. :D

Go to any taylor shop... they'll whip you up one no problem... might be a "little" more expensive though... you can design it yourself also...

Oh yeah, I know. I am trying to talk my wife into letting me buy the new Blue RC 8, but I am quickly losing that battle. Wait, I have already lost it, that was why I was trying to get a good deal from you :chuckle:

Oof, that this is beautiful. SRAM Reds front to back? Ridden a bike with the Reds on it, absolutely loved them.

Oh yeah, I walked into the local bike shop and they had one on the floor and I just stood there drooling. Thank goodness the wife was there to tackle me and drag me out of the shop when she saw me reaching for the wallet. I am forbidden to go into a bike shop without her because I get shiny object must have it now disease and she is my cure for the disease.

On a side not for everyone, I sent an email to a buddy of mine stationed over in Korea and he is going to look into the jerseys for me when he gets a chance. If he says they can do it I will get with everyone and we can see what we can work out.

This is my dream bike....

http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes/road/madone/madone69/

But who has $8600 lying around? So I would settle for this:

http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes/road/madone/madone59/

Which I also can't afford. So ANY Trek Madone would do....(OK. I can't afford ANY of them...)

I currently ride a Trek 5200, Cannondale XS800 Cyclo-cross bike, and Cannondale F-600 hardtail Mountainbike

I'm in, if someone finds a Steelers Cycling Jersey---I've been looking for one for years
I have a couple from Primal Wear---I honestly thought they they would come out with some pro sports teams, but no....

http://www.primalwear.com/c-7-primal-originals-jerseys.aspx

and this site has a bunch of college teams, but no pro teams

Indo, that is a sweet ride. Never been a big Trek fan, but that is just a personal opinion. They make a great bike, cannot deny that and that thang is beautiful!

As for what I ride, I have three bikes. I ride a Bianchi Giro road bike, a Yeti FRO hardtail MTB (in pieces right now trying to make super light), and a Rocky Mountain Element 80 fully sussy MTB. My first love is MTB, but living in Charleston, there are no mountains, so road is my primary ride, but I long for the single track.

If my buddy can find a jersey maker in Korea I will let you know also there Indo. Primal is a great company, and I too thought they would have made an NFL line. Maybe we should start bugging them.

By the way, if anyone is ever in Charleston or planning a trip, let me know. There are several good group road rides and also, beleive it or not, a good off road (MTB) trail in Charleston.

Indo, you going to start the TDF thread again this year? The Shack is looking good, but I am still a CVV fan (looking for the next/different American winner).

If you go to the MS website for their bike ride

http://www.nationalmssociety.org/chapters/FLC/fundraising-events/bike-ms/index.aspx

They are raffling off some decent bikes.

I too have looked for a Steelers cycling jersey for some time and have been unsuccessful. I've contimpated "making" one from a jersey but the thought of cutting and sewing one together just doesn't seem appealing to me (not to mention, downright blasphemy attacking one of my jerseys with a pair of scissors).

On the subject of bikes, on Tuesday I will take possession of this beauty:

http://www.cannondale.com/usa/usaeng/Products/Bikes/Road/Elite-Road/Six/Details/1239-0RSX3D_0RSX3C-Six-Carbon-3

(if the "Magnesium White/Nu Team Blue w/Black Accents" shows up, move cursor over to the "Carbon/Cannondale Yellow w/Black Accents")

Notice the word "Six" near the gooseneck and the number "6" near the rear derailleur.

When the Steelers win their seventh, I'll have to take it in and get it repainted.

This company will make custom jerseys to your own design or artwork.
http://www.bikejerseys.com/customjerseys.html

They have a minimum order for 10 jerseys however... maybe all you cyclists could get together and work something out.:noidea:

80? Hmm...not terrible, for a bike jersey, anyway. Could we get 10 though?

Count me in...

BTW, did anyone catch the Tour of Flanders this weekend?

Boonen and Cancellara (spelling?) on a breakaway for, like, a thousand miles---
I REALLY thought Boonen was gonna crush him at the end, but Cancellara out of nowhere pulls ahead on the Muir (right where the gradient was 20something %!) and that was all she wrote. he's not really known for his climbing, but he had the burst when it mattered...

Paris--Roubaix next weekend

Two races this year in New Mexico, one coming up on the 24th of this month I'll be at, and then the Tour de Gila.

If it was a good design, I'd save up to get one.

Who is going to volunteer to do that?

Then how are we going to get the jerseys, because I don't think they'll send all 10 out to different places.

I am up for the jersey if we can get it to happen. Won't be able to do the organizing/designing though, life is a bit hectic right now.

Oh yeah Indo, I watched it. Cancellera was a beast. You saw him ramp up his rpm's and Boonen was out of the saddle grinding just trying to stay with him. What a miserable ride that has to be, all those cobbles and extreme grades and small roads, throw in a yahoo with a pickup truck honking his horn and trying to run you off the road and you have a great day of cycling. Unfortunately I will not be able to watch Paris-Roubaix this weekend. I am on a training ride this weekend for the Assault on Mt. Mitchell in May and will be in the car driving home.

The Swede seems to get better and better each year. With him and the Schlecks, Team Saxobank will be a Force to be reckoned with this July

As far as Paris-Roubaix goes, I would love to see Hincapie win it---he's come so close (2nd in 2005) but has never won

As far as designing a Steelers Cycling Shirt---maybe someone in the Art Gallery Forum could come up with a design (or several) and we could vote on it

Was kind of kicking some idea's around in my head if we can get someone to draw them up as a possible design. Was thinking of having a yellow jersey with black collar and sleeve ends and zippers. on the front have a bike wheel and and on the tire have written Pittsburgh Steelers in yellow around the wheel. On the shoulders and down the sleeves have the logo's of the six SB's Pittsburgh has won. On the back just have a big Steelers logo. For the back pockets maybe have them black also with Terrible Towels inside the black on each pocket.

I don't know, just an idea. I do like your idea Indo of trying to get a few designs and have us all vote on one. First off we should contact the company and see if they will even do an NFL logo first. Reason being I know when my local Mt. Bike club down here designed a jersey we tried having Curious George on it and the company, I beleive it was in Taiwan, wouldn't do it because of copyrights. Maybe I will shoot them an email if I get the time

I sent an email to one company and he said he didn't do NFL Logos because of the price to get the license for it. But maybe having a design that has the logo but at the same time alters it, may get them around that.

I know its an old thread, but I was curious to know did you find the one you were looking for? My brother was also looking for a similar type of jersey. For how much did you get it (if you were able to find it)?
