The Eagles just released all pro RG Shawn Andrews. I know he has some injury history but he'd definitely be and upgrade over Essex and Foster. What would you guys think of him in Black and Gold? I know it won't happen. But what would u think if it would??

he is such a good player if he really tries but unfortunatly he seems to care more about singing then football.

I honestly think the closer we get to the upcoming draft the more that I think we will be pushing to get OG Mike Iupati from Idaho. He is the best OG prospect and G is one of our biggest needs in this draft in my opinion. I just hope we have the opportunity to get him.

thats who i want. he is huge and can start right away at gaurd. also with his long arms he can move to tackle in the future if needed or we feel its for the best. we need a line that can break holes for our running game and wernt able to do that last year

No thanks. I would just as soon get Iupati or John Jerry in the draft. Actually, I would like to see what we have in Urbik before I would go after Andrews.

Iupati isnt gonna start right away. He is still pretty raw and had trouble handling good competition like Geno Atkins and Dan Williams at the Senior Bowl. Also, if you saw him in OT drills......the guy looks like a fish out of water.

He's got amazing physical tools, but he is gonna need a lot of coaching up before he is able to line up against some NFL competition.

he is a little raw on pass protection but i can almost gurentee you he will start this year no matter who he plays for. he might not start week 1 but he will be starting some point during the season. he will learn alot in the summer and will be ready to play the season. iupati is way to good to sit on anyones bench. i bet he will be in the probowl his 2nd or 3rd year.

I'd prefer to give Foster a chance to compete with Essex now that he has 1 year under his belt, he can improve in 2010 IMO.

if foster can play at an elite level like iupati probably will then i agree. we just need someone to start breaking holes for our rb's. i would rather have someone on our team do it then grab thomas to play cb but we definatly need a better line this year

Maybe McHugh's return will help with this :noidea:

If Andrews were to sign for a lot less than he was making in Philadlephia, I'd be all for it. He's extremely talented when healthy and is tops in the league at both guard and right tackle. But with all his injury problems, it'll be about finding a team to actually pay him. He's going to want some guaranteed money. It's actually a good sitaution for him with the uncapped year coming up because some team will overpay for him... Let's see if the Raiders snag him.

i would love to see kraig urbik step up and take the gaurd spot. he was a 3rd round pick so hopefully they can get something out of him.

I would love to see this too, but I have my doubts.

Maybe he can be a receiver because Sweed appears to be a bust.
