That's what I said. He was at least once an MVP, wasn't he?

During an interview earlier in the week, Terry said he wasn't going to be able to be there. He didn't say why.

How about Joe Namath! Local boy..woo hoo!

I wonder if it was because Terry is employed by FOX and the game was on ABC?? any ideas?

Dunno, but it was a shame that he couldn't be there as TWO TIME MVP. Franco took up the slack though.

Anyone see Cowher ask for the towel at the trophy presentation? They cut away as he started to swing it, but it was GREAT!!!

I thought about that as well, but Simms was their and he works for CBS. Does anyone know if Bradshaw was even in Detroit this week?

I just posted this in the other Bradshaw thread, he was not in Detroit, he was at home, he wanted to be with family. Joe Montana was not there either, he wanted 100,000$ to be there, and the NFL declined, so he didn't go. Jake Scott wasn't there because he is in Australia, and a Cowboy wasn't there, because he died of cancer in 01.

Terry appears to be a great Steeler fan. Your icon was home in bed.

Lol, Lynn Swann looked like Nixon with his hands up in the air. it's funny cause he's running for Governor. And I think Franco's waiving of the towel quieted all those Seahawks who claimed he loved their city...

Wow, you're bitter... Who cares, I mean sure it woulda been nice to see him, but if he would rather spend time with his family I think he deserves that, he already gave his superbowl mvp performances on behalf of the organization...

I heard the guys on 970AM this morning saying that Joe Montana was not there because he had demanded a $100,000 appearance fee. They also stated that they had heard the Bradshaw had requested payment, as well. Don't know if there is any validity to it, but if so, that is embarassing. These guys were given all-expense paid trips to the Super Bowl and then, for the guys who showed up, were probably treated like royality...and these two want cash? Not good....

I just found THIS (http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/chronicle/archive/2006/02/06/SPG9QH3GD91.DTL). This appears to be confirmation that it was all about the money for Montana and Bradshaw. Sad....

So they fly these guys in...put them up...give them tickets and $1000 spending cash....

But nooooo...thats apparantly not enough for some people

very sad

Bradshaw was in Detroit last week, did an interview with Jim & Randy on DVE, and it was a good one. I too was surprised he wasn't in the ceremony.

Terry is not bashful about being in it for the $$$.

Since it came up in both his interview I heard on Atlanta sports talk and in the PTI interview, my guess is teh only reason he was in Detroit earlier in the week to give interviews was so he could plug some movie in which he apparently is married to Kathy Bates.

As for Montana apparently asking for $100K (maybe that is what he was paid for the FedEx commercial), his belief the NFL would pay that amount is laughable.

$$$$$$$$$$.

I can't get over the fact that Bradshaw showed up in the Burgh for a book signing the weekend Swann was getting inducted in Canton. It's always about Terry for Bradshaw, and his making up with Pittsburgh was for his image. This is a guy who was AWOL for Mr. Rooney's funeral.

I read that Montana refused to show up because of a dispute about the money he would receive. The former MVP's were given $1000 each for incidental expenses and Montana wanted $100,000? He must have had some big plans of going up to the Windsor Ballet?
Terry also was reported as having issues with the money although a rep for him denied this. Reguardless, it would have been nice to see him there....and he should have been there supporting the team. Just my thought.
