I think that person kind of put him on the spot there, It didnt sound like he was ready to make the call to be done, that is for sure. If he is done, that is cool, and congratulations for sure.

Jerome Bettis is a class-act, and I really respect his decision to go out on top. He will be sorely missed on the field, but we haven't seen the last of him. We just need to look in the right places... like Canton, and maybe ESPN... He's gonna be a GREAT announcer!

Thanks for the ride, Bus! We love ya!!

THANK GOD HE IS DONE.

FACT:
NOT A HOF running back. Only twice did he score over 10 TD's in a season.
The game last night just shows that an average back like Willy Parker is better than the SHORT BUS!

I have worn Jerome's jersey for almost his entire run with the Steelers. I had faith in him very early on and I knew there was something special about this player. I thank him for committing to Pittsburgh and the fans. He could have left for other opportunities and more money, but he didn't because he BELIEVED too. As a Pittsburgh native (I now live in Tampa) I am truly sad to see him go, but our beloved Steelers have found a new sense of pride and committment, all achieved through patience and hard work. This is what the city of Pittsburgh needed, was a little boost in morale! Well thanks to Cowher and all the boys, Pittsburgh is back! I am keeping my eye on Pola. He's special too and a damn good football player!

So thank you Mr. Bettis! You will be sorely missed but never forgotten in the Steel City! I hope to see that great smile of yours commentating.

You know what... After all of the inspiration that this man has brought to the team, and the "coaching" that he has done for Willie and others on the team, wouldn't it be GREAT if the Steelers hired him as an assistant coach or something like that? When they played the "miked-up" segments during the Superbowl, he seemed to be coaching the team on the field anyhow...

I know that this is not going to happen, but wouldn't it be GREAT if it did?

THE BUS...ONCE A STEELER...ALWAYS A STEELER!!!

THANK YOU

Bettis is one of a kind. I doubt I will ever see another player like him again in Pittsburgh, yet alone in football. Thanks for a decade of great memories with the Steelers. You won't be forgotten. THANK YOU

I moved to Pittsburgh in 1995.

I adored watching him & feeling I had something in-common, being new to this region, was familiar with his style in St. Louis. I said then, I thought he'd be a great fit.

Lotta years since that time, but I've watched each & every game, and..... to be perfectly honest? This is the BEST exit of any football career, EVER. All those tough years, all that doubt? It's simply magical that Jerome has his ring this year, and I, as a TRUE football fan, feel privileged to have seen it.

Was the best trade the Steelers have ever made, considering we dont do that sort of thing often. He was the face of the Steelers, Ward has taken that over some and then will be Ben when Ward is done.
