Steelers Victory Parade, Rally Planned
Parade Runs From Mellon Arena To Point State Park

POSTED: 8:59 am EST February 6, 2006

PITTSBURGH -- The Steelers victory parade will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m.

It will run from Mellon Arena and run to Point State Park.

A victory rally will be held at Point State Park after the parade.

I'm am going to try to get there too...it's only a 4 1/2 hour trip...as long as someone will pick my son from Day Care I'm there!!!!!

Have fun for me, guys. I'd love to get out there but I don't think my profs would approve of me skipping class to drive 11-hours to get to the 'Burgh, but I'll be there in spirit. Enjoy the celebration!

The victory parade -- complete with bands from several local high schools -- is scheduled to get underway at 11am at Mellon Arena.

The procession will continue down Centre Avenue to Sixth Avenue and onto Fifth Avenue. From there, the route will continue onto Liberty Avenue and wrap up at Gateway Center.

After the parade, a rally is planned between the Hilton Hotel and the State Office Building.

If it was a white pontiac gtp with alot of black and yellow in the glass. Then it was us. Man we had a blast!!!!!

I saw three vehicles from Tenn. A pontiac Bonneville. and a SUV, with Terrible Towels waving everywhere. And A white Gran Prix, we were in two black trailblazer with the Steelers flag everywhere

I see alot of you who posted could not make the parade. I was lucky enough to go there and it was one of the most incredibile events I have ever seen. I commend the City of Pittsburgh for putting such an awesome event together in 30 hours.

I think they had it planned before the Super Bowl, they just didn't announce the details until after we won. but I agree, it was one hell of a shindig! :bouncy:

Lyn, are those your pics? they turned out really good. I had a crappy disposible camera so mine didn't turn out too great :frown:
