Now Cryers be out dogs and do what we say. Go bash the hell out of the Caps and tire them every single game. Make the series long, I still hate you!

OT coming up. Who want's to be a hero?

X-Terminator
04-22-2010, 09:47 PM
OT games at home have not been kind to the Pens in the past. Game 3 of the Caps series last year was the first one I can remember that the Pens won at home. They also lost game 6 of that series in OT at home when they had a chance to end it. So I am not liking this one bit.

Confidence mister! I went to game 6 last season against the Caps when we lost in OT, doesn't feel good to lose those ones!

Don Cherry is certifiably nuts.

Is he drunk?

I'll pick Jordan friggin' Staal. Why? Because it would only be appropriate with the conversation from yesterday.

LOL...he always sounds like he's drunk. He's just going on and on about how the Sens can come back and how well they've played at home. I just laughed out loud at that...they played so well the past two games.

I'm going for Malkin (if the Pens win it).

What's going to bother me the most is now we're going to hear for the next 2 days about teams coming back from 3-1 deficits and the 1975 team that blew a 3-0 lead.

May not even bother reading anything until Saturday night...

I cannot understand for the life of me why the Pens can't clinch series at home. The last time they did it was in 2008 against the Rangers and Flyers...and those are among the precious few times the Pens have managed to clinch at home.

Damn. I'm just not a happy camper right now. I did NOT want to see Ottawa and Scotiabank Place again.

I would never question their performance. They played great last night coming back from a bad first part of the first period and really proved they could win the series and I know they will head in to Ottawa with their heads up ready to finally finish off the series! Just a horrible loss. They could lose the series after that cluster.

How could you call that a horrible loss? They were down 2-0, came back to tie it up, got the go-ahead goal and unfortunately, the Sens got that tying goal which sent the game into 3 OT's. The winning goal was the result of a deflection which was simply a bad break. The way both teams (and particularly LeClaire and Fleury) were playing, a lucky bounce was going to be pretty much the only way either team was going to get one in. Unfortunately, the Sens got it.

We're still up on 'em 3-2 and like I said - it doesn't matter to me where they play. Get the W in Game #6 and get ready for Round #2.

Again - what the hell does it matter where they clinch?? Look what they did last season and the end result. :banging: :banging:

The Sens played desperation hockey last night and played it well to their credit. As I said before - they weren't going to come into our house last night and lay down and die.

Geez XT - some positive vibes and energy would be nice for a change. :drink:

Easy Killer, no way they lose 3 in row.

Except that the Pens have lost 2 of their last 3 game 7s at home and are just 2-4 overall. If this series comes back here on Tuesday, it will not be good given that history. They absolutely HAVE to close it out Saturday night.

That's because historically, the Pens have faired much better clinching on the road than at home. Last year shouldn't really surprise anyone, because it's the way they have always been. They are 5-0 in game 7s on the road and they are the only team with multiple Cups that has not clinched one at home. Still though, when you have the opportunity to clinch a series in your own building, you do it, otherwise it can come back and bite you in the ass.

But last season it didn't bite us in the ass because we finished several times finishing a series on the road and won. So you have to feel confident going into Ottawa!

Last season is last season!

Look the sens came out last night on fire, cooled off, and fired back up in that third over time. Just enough to get a win.

As much as it would be great to clinch the series in front of the home crowd, I'm just as happy if they secure the series in Ottawa!

No it didn't, and yes, based on their history, you can be confident going into Saturday. But my point is why do they have to try to clinch on the road when they don't have to? You play all season to try to get home-ice advantage, so when the opportunity is there to close out a series, you take advantage of it.

I'll still take a W wherever they can get it. A W is a W is a W.

I think most diehards knew on Thursday night that it was going to take a lucky bounce/deflection/whatever to win that game. Geno hit the post in one of the OT's and there was no luck associated with it, unfortunately. Ottawa was the benefactor of the deflection that went into the net, though Fleury played admirably 99% of that game. It happens.

I'm putting all of my energies into tonight's game and I really believe the Pens are going to come home with that W.

I still feel very positive about the Pens winning this series. Maybe they need a good swift kick in the ass wake up call to get 'em back on track and play like the Pens we all know and love. LeClaire reminds me so much of Varlamov from last year's playoffs. :banging:

Well 2 goals is not alot and this team is not the best and we can and will beat them. Believing is being positive and I never give up on our Pens!

We need to park someone's ass in front of the net everytime we are in the OZ in the third and keep the Sens from getting anywhere near Fleury. We have to totally dominate the 3rd period in every way possible.

Thank you for the positive input, steelpride12 - believe me - around here, it's very refreshing. :drink:

I was thinking we'd win this period by 2-3 goals at least. Sound like a plan?

I knew I'd get some agreement with that plan HTG.

Good to be here. Now we just need a few goals. I need to unleash more Langeisms tonight.

Don't these assjacks in Ottawa realize that Fleury pays no attention to their jeers?
