View Full Version : Where is the *factual evidence* that Ben actually followed her into the restroom

it seems as if everyone (her, D.A., uninformed media/fans/citizens of U.S.) is stating that as an assumed FACT instead of ONE PERSON'S accusation. :banging:

The D.A. said himself in his 71 minute press conference that he did not have evidence that anyone saw Ben go back to the bathroom with her. He may have but I'm looking for factual evidence. No one seems to address this.

There isn't any. People who are siding with the accuser and making Ben out to be a bad guy are uninformed.

Q: Could you talk about the report that one of his bodyguards possibly blocked the place off from her sorority sisters?

A: The Capital City Club has a main dance floor. They have a curtain you can move over and screen it off. They let him and his entourage use what they call the V.I.P. area. So heís got him and his eight, nine, 10 friends. They did say, ĎLet only girls back here. Let only girls back here.í Capital City did have one bouncer stationed in front of the black curtain. There were two bodyguards back there. There was just a lot of drinking and talking and socializing back there. The best from a prosecution point of view that we get is one of the Ė none of the bodyguards or anyone in the entourage talked about Ben being back there by himself with the victim, about any sex, about knowing of any sex, nothing like that Ė the best from our angle that we get is one of the bodyguards said the victim asked to use the restroom, that she has to use the restroom, and so she was escorted back there and sat on a stool. Thatís all he saw. He didnít see Ben go back there. None of the bodyguards or any of the entourage saw anything improper going on back there between Ben and the victim.

Q: How long were they in the bathroom?

A: Nobody really knows. The only two people that know about them being in the bathroom were he and she. Heís never said he was alone in the bathroom with her. All he said was he remembered the girl and she fell and hit her head, and again there was no head injury. He never said how long. Her details are somewhat foggy I think due to the level of intoxication. Putting all the bits and pieces of the puzzle together, the best guess would be about 10 minutes, but nobody really knows. Iím guessing 10 minutes from her going back there and coming out.

Q: It was reported at one point that Roethlisberger admitted to having sexual contact. But he didnít say that to you, right?

A: Right. Iíve sat at the computer at night and just Googled and Yahooed everything I could. Iíve read every account that I could about this case. I read the same thing that you did, but that was not provided to law enforcement. The only information that came out of his lips to law enforcement was just a brief five, 10-minute bug 4328 and there was no discussion of sex.

Totally agree that this is a past issue and it's time to move on ... don't be surprised to see the NFL order him to rehab and the Steelers to sack him for a few games (each can take a whip to this troubled boy). But to answer the original post ... I really wonder if his body guard/off-duty State Trooper answered some questions truthfully. It becomes evidence when a member of law enforcement states that he led the girl to the back and stood in front of the door when Ben entered and closed the door. Keep in mind that guy can't be a lackey for Ben because if it ever came out that he lied during questioning in a criminal investigation, then he's losing his career job. Of course I don't know that this guy admitted this or not, but that DA stated it as fact and i don't hear Ben objecting to such false, outrageous and slanderous lies ... beside the girl obviously didn't testify to any of this because she was plowed. I appreciate Ben being our QB because of what he does on the field and I realize this girl obviously is not a saint ... but if this were my sister ....

The "factual evidence" is that nobody ever disputed that version of events. Ben's people and everyone else treated it as an accepted fact, which ought to make it pretty obvious unless you're in denial or you've got shit for brains.

What this matters for now? Exactly nothing. Just wait and see what the various football powers that be decide.

there's still no factual evidence that Ben followed her to the bathroom. Ben's lawyer didn't confirm or deny any accusations. He even let the D.A. prosecutor look for anything he could and he still didn't find anything. But that prosecutor stated this as fact without it being so.

They very well could have made arrangements to meet there. She went first and then he went in. There's no proof that he stalked her like a predator, but that's what the DA made it sound like. It sounds like they started doing the dirty deed and she changed her mind, he pulled out (like everybody wants a man to do when a woman says no even at that point), hence no DNA evidence.

Basically, it's obvious to anyone unless you demand a ridiculous standard of proof. The fact of the matter is that a bunch of people generally agree that something happened in the bathroom, and nobody's denying it -- which says a lot.

I don't even know why this is such a big deal to you at all. It's perfectly possible that he went in the bathroom with the chick and there would still be no proof of any wrongdoing. Which is exactly the way it turned out, actually. It's completely irrelevant to anything except whether Ben, as a human being, is a dumbass. And if you're really disputing things in this case to the point where you don't even think he used questionable judgment at all, you've got your head buried so far in the sand I don't think anyone can help you.

Ben DID thank the D.A. for conducting a thorough and fair investigation which WOULD lead me to believe that Ben was in agreement with the accusations that the D.A. presented at the press conference. (including that he followed her down that hall etc)

You're right on reserve. And I don't believe the DA or anyone else actually present the evidence. Did anyone actually see a petri dish with this male DNA on it? No? Then how do we know it actually exists? It's this type of thinking that let OJ and Ray Lewis off the hook for multiple murders. Unless the crime is committed on film, some people won't believe it happened. I've said it before and I'll say it again, this chick was no saint. She's a big girl and should have known better ... in fact isn't this type of thing learned by various young ladies in college? Thought that's what a sorority is all about (waking up hung over and disappointed with who's they are laying next to). The two things that stand out here are: 1)Ben doesn't always act like a gentleman and may operate in some pretty shady ways and 2) this girl did things my grandmother would never have done that placed her in this situation... and here we are.

If people want to complain about the DA, they should point out that the DA made negative statements about Ben, but didn't acknowledge this girl acted in a manner unbecoming of a lady. He should have said "both parties should grow up and learn to act in a manner suitable for ladies and gentlemen and not like pigs ... which resulted in both of them being placed in such a poor situation.".

And continually calling the girl a victim........which insinuates a crime was commited even though he just got done saying that they couldn't prove that any crime was commited.

If you honestly think that nothing happened and Ben is completely innocent of anything, you are either a blind homer or stupid, or both.

Separate incidents in Georgia, Tahoe and Vegas, which lead to Ben hiring Ray Lewis' defense attourney and eventually landed him in Roger Goodell's office before a likely suspension.............where there is smoke, there is fire.

The DA said it pretty clearly that he prosecutes "crimes, not morals". Ben is apparantly a greasy, immoral, mullet wearing millionarie that isnt fit to promote Beef Jerky any more. Tiger Woods is turning out to be the Man of the Year compared to Ben.

Tahoe and Vegas

Hows this: In an affidavit obtained by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, on August 8, 2009 states that the alleged victim Andrea McNulty allegedly bragged to a co-worker, Angela Antonetti, about having consensual sex with Roethlisberger.[92] In a sworn statement, the woman said McNulty did not appear to be upset about the incident. Antonetti went on to say McNulty expressed the possibility of being pregnant and she was hoping for "a little Roethlisberger." Moreover, Antonetti said, the woman asked her to travel to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in August 2008 for a Steelers' game and to try to "run into" Roethlisberger. Antonetti told her that she shouldn't try to chase Roethlisberger. Antonetti said she was "absolutely shocked" on July 21 when she heard on the radio that the woman had claimed Roethlisberger had assaulted her "because I knew [her] allegation ....was false. Because I knew that [her] lawsuit and false allegations would unfairly and unjustly hurt Roethlisberger, I wanted to set the story straight," she said in the affidavit, part of a motion filed by two other defendants to move the case from Washoe County to Douglas County.

It was actually a poster on PFT that summed it up exactly the way I think it happened. I'm not absolving Ben of poor judgement (a chronic condition for him, it seems) but there is blame to be had for both parties. I hope this girl learned a lesson and gets back to her studies, graduates and lives happy life. And I hope her children put her through the same kind of hell she just put her own parents through. (sorry, as a parent I just had to throw that in . :chuckle:) And Ben needs to get his head out of ass and make some serious changes in his life or else said ass is going find itself being booted out of town.

I know this,... When Goodell sent a message to Ben a couple of weeks ago, that he planned to have a meeting with him, Ben's response was "I'm looking forward to it." I'm sure he told Goodell exactly how it is. I'm sure he was very adamant that he was being wrongfully accused by a money grubbing ***** (McNutty) and a girl who had to be convinced by her drunken sorority sisters that she was raped. The GA girl's story went from "I wasn't raped" to "I'm not sure if we had sex" to "He kind of raped me" to "I said no, we shouldn't be doing this, he said oh yes we should". When she sobered up and realized that she just got herself into deep shit, she would not allow herself to be interviewed again. Remember the GBI saying that it's hard to move forward when the accuser isn't cooperating??? During this time, she and her lawyer were trying to come up with an exit strategy that would get her out of the mess that she caused, without getting into trouble for wrongfully accusing someone of a crime. Hence the whole "We are backing out due to the overwhelming media coverage, but this does not recant our original claim." If Ben paid her off, then they wouldn't have thrown that last part in there. This way, the girl doesn't expose her drunken mistake. I am in no way calling the GA girl a Gold Digger. I just think that she got drunk, and got herself into some serious shit...

None of that matters to the holier than thou Ben bashers. It's all Ben's fault they'll say and he should be traded because, well, the Steelers are "different" from any other team....
