Rex Ryan on prime-time heavy schedule: "The league is smart"
Posted by Mike Florio on April 20, 2010 8:07 PM ET
In 2009, Jets coach Rex Ryan wasn't bashful about doing his best to talk big in the hopes of propping up an underdog team.

Now that the Jets are a frontrunner, he'll be more careful about what he says, right?

Wrong.

Asked during ESPN's schedule-release special for his thoughts on a slate that features five prime-time games, Ryan said, "I think the league is smart. They're not gonna put just an average time on prime time. They know what's up."

Love him or hate him, Ryan and the Jets will be one of the most intriguing teams in 2010.

I love his swagger. He doesn't care about being PC, he says what he means and means what he says. It'll be fun to see what he has to say after we sock his Jets in the mouth on prime time football! :tt03:

He has cool swagger but his team is way overrated. They have no QB.

I am not so sure why everyone is acting like Sanchez is a success. He had a bad year ...12 TDs, 20 INT, 63.0 QB rating behind a good line.

The team was bad...backed their way into the playoffs by the Colts and the Bengals not playing hard.

Then in the playoffs, they got the choking Bengals...then SD choked on a FG that should have won it.

Granted they improved during the off season but you need a QB. They don't have one. Sanchez is hype at this point.

In Sanchez's last 8 games he threw 4 TD and 10 INTs and had games with completion percentages of 38, 46, 50, and 53.

Why is he so hyped?

The Jets should wait for us to trade ben so they can approach the new team with a blockbuster deal including Sanchez and their first round pick this year and next. With Ben, they could easily win a superbowl.

I hope they kick the Pats* asses twice this year and win their division. That's about it.

In fact, wen we play the Jets, I know Santonio will get open on IKE...please not PI...but I think Sancez will have trouble getting im the ball. I predict both Wilson and Polumalu will have picks that game. (If we are smart and pick Wilson).

I doubt it. I even think they will lose to the Ravens on openning night. They won't have Holmes but more improtantly Sanchez sucks. That's why Ben is so important. The other pieces mean nothing without a QB.

Here's their schedule.
1.Ravens L
2.Patriots L
3.Dolphins W-Marshal makes everyone good but Brown may be suspended (DUI)
4.Bills W
5.Vikings L
6.Broncos W
7.Packers L
8. Lions W
9.Browns W
10. Texans W
11. Bengals W
12. Patriots L
13.Dolphins L -Ronnie Brown back at this point. Henne and Marshal in sync
14. Steelers L -Sanchez can't hit Holmes
15 Bears W
16 Bills W

So they finish 9-7 after starting out 3-4.

That is very plausible....but I am still hoping that they stomp the Patriots twice.
