Found this article from Sports Illustrated which pretty much outlines the obvious, but I thought it would still be good considering some of the doom and gloom going on around here lately.

If the 2010 is to be a success, the Steelers would need to go 3-1 in the first 4 games. That's obviously contingent on Big Ben following the rules, but that would be a positive thing out of all the negative. And then Big Ben needs to essentially come back and be Peyton Manning. Eat, sleep, drink football and do so for the rest of his football career. If he wants to erase this off his rep, he will need to go to another level. A level of not answering questions about his situation, just play ball and stop banging random chicks in hotel rooms and bars.

If they trade him, it is all over. It sounds like he is gone.

the season isnt lost, we will go at least 2-2 in the first 4 games. The D will be back to how it was a few yrs ago with troy and aaron back. this team will fight, and show heart as they rally around their QB. :helmet:

Agreed. Ben was and (for so long as he remains a Steeler) will remain a big part of the Steeler equation - but the Steelers won't curl up and die without him. The Steelers will rally around whoever it is at the helm - whether its Ben, or Dixon, Leftwich, Batch, or Tebow - the Steelers will fight for every win, just how they've always done.
