If they can get Cook in Round 2, I'd probably go with him. If he's not there, I'd hold off til later rounds for Ghee/Owusu-Ansah/Verner/Carroll.

In the next two rounds they might be able to grab Ghee, Cook, Warren or Sydquan Thomas. (I think Cox is avoided). Maybe they could get Carrol or McFadden early on day three.

Nobody. We blew our chance at solving our DB problem when we took Pouncey. The smart thing to do now is just sit back, go after our other needs, enjoy another abysmal defensive season with Willie Gay, and *hopefully* be smart enough to use our first next year on a CB.

Would you like some biscuits and cheese with that wine?

Pouncey is a sensational pick for the team's future development.

I am sure that the FO will not even consider a Cornerback now because the first round is over and steelernation mandated that a first round CB must be taken.

The front office is only smart when they listen to the screaming masses on bulletin boards and draft accordingly. Hell why didnt we draft Earl Thomas? Why didnt we draft Joe Haden? Why didnt we draft Eric Berry? Because they were gone.

Maybe we should have reached for Kyle Wilson or Kareem Jackson ( because they were the only possible options left on the board)

I am sick of how this board now sounds like a bengals or browns forum.

I for one see Brandon Ghee and Amari Spievey being very good round 2 options.

I think my favorite two now might be Spievey and Owusu-Ansah.

I wonder just how far Kindle will fall. I know some would scream their heads off if we took an OLB in the 2nd but this kid is very good.

I like both Brandon Ghee and Akwasi Owusu-Ansah in the 2nd.....Kevin Thomas in the 4th...andthe CB from Maryland (Nolan Carroll) that our FO brought in for a workout, is a darkhorse that might pan out.

.

I wonder if the rumors about the Steelers liking Jackson were true.? I dont think he was worth the #18 pick, but do think Wilson, McCourty or Bulaga were.

I like the Pouncey pick in that it can pave the way for a big future interior line of Kemo, Pouncey and Urbik.................but I still think an OT like Bulaga was a better pick at #18.

wwwwhhhhaaatttttt... c'mon man there is a BUNCH of good DB's in this years draft.

Owusu-Ansah is my favorite by far, but Donovan Warren or Amari Spievey would be really nice picks as well. Id like to see us go back to flordia and get spikes for our 2nd pick,

Hey I thought Eben Britton was a better pick than Ziggy last year the day after.

I came into today with a realistic list of 5 players that I would be ecstatic if we landed.

Pouncey and Bulaga were two of them.

In the end I think it is splitting hairs with the two of them. The only thing that I possibly read into is that Colon is a keeper in the same mould as Starks where as Hartwig and Legursky are not.

I agree, Spikes is gonna be a BEAST, I'll take his instincts over his 40 times all day long. Might as well draft Riley Cooper and Major Wright in the later rounds and swipe up all the Gators....LOL

Everyone bitched last year(years) about our O Line but no one wants to make a O line pick. Pouncey isnt the Sexy pick but he was the pick that will help us control the clock and should be our center for the next 10 yrs.

As far as CB there are several still available and The 34 D is based on our front 7 getting pressure. We need to sure up the LB's or D line. We should of offered the Rams a 6st for Adam Cariker. That was a wasted opportunity.

I was wondering if they were going to go with Bulaga but We needed A gaurd & Center and got him with Pouncey. Kareem JAckson would of been another great pick as he has experience in the 34D. Thats why he jumped Wilson. I like Wilson but what kept him in the back half of the 1st was lack of competition.

I think that passing on Wilson may speak volumes about how Coach Tomlin feels about Burnett and Lewis. We may not use a day two pick to grab a corner if Tomlin thinks those two are ready to contribute.

I think Tomlin likes them and as far as the draft he likes Javier Arenas & Dominique Franks(i think). Well I know he likes Arenas but I hope not in the 2nd,then again he has 34d experience and would be an upgrade over Gay/battle with Gay.

Agreed, Spievy would be ok in this round also. I think the top couple of guys on this list will be gone when we pick. We should take the CB here, unless we grab another
O-lineman if a good one drops into our lap.:applaudit:

If they don't pick up a CB in day 2, I will feel comfortable with what tomlin thinks on Lewis and Burnett

Though at some point in the draft they will draft one, if only for depth

I think with pick 50 we should try and get a good ILB like Brandon Spikes... if all the good ILB are gone at 50 i would nt mind trading the pick to get a high 3rd and 4th. So we can double up in both rounds and really get the players we want.

As for CB I am sold on Akwasi Owusu-Ansah, but we shouldnt reach for him at number 50 . Lets say we uxe my theory and trade our 2nd for Lions 3rd and 4th. 66 AND100.

I dont want to trade out of the 2nd I'd rather trade into it.

Mel kiper has us taking WR Taylor Price but with Mt Cody,Cam Thomas,Brandon Ghee,Carlos Dunlap,NAte Allen, Everett Griffen still on the board.
Todd Mcshay has us taking Golden Tate with Koa Misi,Brandon Spikes, jerome Murphy,Carlos Dunlap,John Jerry,Al Woods,Daryl Washington,Edwin Veldher,Dexter Mc Cluster and Novorro Bowman still on the board. Within stricking distance is Brian Price,TAylor MAys,Mt Cody & Toby Gerhart.

On Kipers I'd take Mt Cody or Brandon Ghee.
On MCshays I'll stay with Golden or Spikes,Misi,Veldheer or go after Cody or Mays.

Im down with that Idea. I just feel we got room to trade cause we have so many picks. And the great value players might not be there in the 5th round. Maybe Trade our 3rd and 2 of our 5ths to get us in the 2nd.

That would get us

2 2nd round picks
1 4th round pick
2 5th round picks
1 6th round pick
1 7th round pick

It would leave us with 7 picks still and we can get 2 studs in the second rather then gamble on people in the later rounds

I know they have a ton of late round picks, but Colbert sounds like he has every intention of keeping every single one of them.

I agree with Glory. Take the Franks kid and Thomas (DE) as an eventual replacement for Big Snack. We can trade up with two of those 5th rounders, but we can't move our compensatory picks. Move in the fourth and draft what falls to our compensatory picks.
