I was surprised in rd 2 that we dint grab CODY but like the pick. I was thinking Brandon Ghee in the 3rd but then we got BMac back.
I thought they would of taken Jeff Owens in the 7th but like Doug Worthington for depth.

I was at a meeting when day 2 started and after looking at the list I'm shocked we didnt take Golden Tate or Mt COdy.

This is a great thread and will be an intersting re-read in a year or two.

Look when the Texans took Mario Williams and passed on Reggie Bush. Williams might be a better player, but Bush has the ring. Drafting is definitely more of an art than a science.

The bottom line is who currently has the most Super Bowl rings? Gaining a grade A for drafting from media pundits or winning the battle of stats means absolutely nothing when compared to winning championships. Keep it in perspective.

Yeah but a little luck of who drafts you and who your playing with also helps....Mario Williams isn't the reason the Texans didn't go to the Superbowl, and Reggie Bush isn't the reason the Saints won it....

So with all the talk about AB around here lately, I thought it'd be fun to look back at how people at SF reacted when he was drafted. This was one of my favorite posts.

Only Time will tell but here is who we picked and some possible picks that we could have had before our next pick. I want to check this list out as the years go by. I think the Steelers did pretty well accept maybe passing on Tate.

Pouncey 1st round or

Sean Weatherspoon ilb
Kareem Jackson cb
Bryan Bulaga ot
Dez Bryant wr
Dan Williams nt
Devin McCourty cb
Kyle Wilson cb

This is hard, very hard. It's obviously between Pouncey and Dez. Dez and AB would be ridiculous, but for a long time Pouncey held that line together. I think you have to pull the trigger on him.

Jason Worilds olb 2nd round pick or

Golden Tate wr
Jerome Murphy cb
Jermaine Cunningham olb
Sean Lee Dallas ilb
Terrance Cody nt
Charles Brown ot
Brandon Spikes ilb

I think Lee vs Tate is another interesting debate. The health just hasn't been there with Lee, and Tate is a great as a second option.

Emanuel Sanders WR 3rd round or

Jordan Shipley wr
Eric Decker wr
Andre Roberts wr
Armanti Edwards wr
Taylor Price wr
Kevin Thomas cb
Brandon Ghee cb
Mardy Gilliard wr
Bruce Campbell ot
Jacoby Ford wr
Darell Stuckey s

Sanders vs Decker. Too unspectacular WRs spoiled by Peyton. No fun here.

Thadius Gibson OLB 4th round or

Aj Edds olb
Eric Norwood olb
Akwasi owusu-ansa cb/s
Ricky Sapp olb
Dominique Franks cb
Perrish Cox cb
Nolan Carroll cb
Cam Thomas nt

Save time in FA. Draft Cam Thomas!

Chris Scott ot/og, 5th round or

Otis Hudson ot
Arthur Jones DE
Chris Degeare og

Crezden Butler CB, Stevenson Slyvester ILB or

Nate Triplett lb
Marshall Newhouse og
Anthony Dixon rb
Sam Young ot
Nate Byham te

Nobody really worth discussing here.

Jonathan Dwyer (you have to take this pick considering need and quality) rb, Antonio Brown wr/kr 6th round or

Joe Webb wr MIN
Charles Scott rb PHI
Myron Rolle ss TEN

the 2010 draft class might not look great but with two pro bowlers I'd say that draft gets an A.

I was hoping Jordan Shipley would fall to us in the 3rd but glad he didn't. Injuries shortened his career, looked good for the Bungals during his rookie year

But in the 4th I'd take Akwasi owusu-ansa just for his name. :chuckle:

I'll never get why Crezdon Butler became a flop. I remember him playing well and making plays during the preseason but then he got cut and now has became journeyman.

"Antonio Brown has absolutely 0 chance of making the team. That's a wasted pick."
