LET'S GO PENS! Guerin and Rupp in should help our boys out!

The reason Fedo and Poni are not in because Bylsma feel's they are not playing their game and are healthy scratches!

Oh what a chance by Adams! Rupp is already causing great forecheck and giving Halak problems I love it!

I agree that we need to start crashing the net at every opportunity and fire on Halak until they wear him down. The Pens are the far superior team in every respect and they have to take total control of that ice.

LETS GO PENS!

I like the chances Malkin and Sid are getting out there when they are together I wish Sid would just score so they shut up about him getting dominated by the Habs!

I wish Bylsma would put Sid and Geno on the ice together more often in this series, as the Habs can't keep track of both of them at the same time. I'm sick to death of the negativity by the announcers and the sports media in general on both Sid and Geno. :banging: The Habs don't have one single player who can make a hair on either of their hineys.

Funny, but I guess I get so caught up in the game that I don't always hear what the announcers say.

Emerick is a dork but his dorkiness lies in the love of the sport of hockey and therefore I kinda relate to him and like him because of it.

Good game there, really, and another good overall effort. Both goalies were very good, but that damn Halak prevented the Pens from racking up at least 2 more goals. I still don't know how he stopped Malkin late in the 2nd when he and Crosby both went to the net. Speaking of Malkin, this might have been his best game of the playoffs so far, and hopefully now he'll get the fans off his back, especially those who think he should be traded and that he's been struggling because he's tired of living in Crosby's shadow. :coffee: :jerkit:

Oh, and for the "fans" in the arena tonight...what the hell, guys? It's a freaking PLAYOFF GAME. Where the hell was the energy tonight? Did you all hear how loud Bell Centre was for games 3 and 4? Really, if all you want to do is sit on your hands, give your tickets up to fans who actually will make some noise. The damn place was quiet for most of the game despite the Pens playing well and having a lead. Ridiculous.

Now, time to put the Habs out of their misery Monday night and punch their ticket to the ECF for the 3rd straight year.

LET'S GO PENS!!!

Great win for our Pens tonight an overall great effort and much improved since game 4. First star for me was MAF, he was light's out tonight and was peppered most of the game and other than a slip up goal with 20 seconds left a championship effort:thumbsup:!

Malkin was just all over the ice tonight, he is so eye popping with his puck skills and was creating opportunities left and right and set up the first goal of the game!

Biggest thing I saw was the Pens were physical all game long and having Rupp for that game showed he was hitting and causing havoc all game long, while Guerin was in front of the net all night and for the first goal which is what we needed traffic!

Series lead 3 to 2 for the Pens and I believe they will finish this series Monday on the road!

It looks like Chicago and SJ will meet in the conference final.

I'm not sure who to root for yet. If the Sharks win, then there will be quite a few hours spent in the air for the Pens flying all the way to the west coast and some funky dunk television starting times for you guys back east ....

Plus, I'm concerned about what a Pens/Sharks final will do in SCM's household. :chuckle:

Unless the Canuks kick some serious ass, it will be either of these teams in the finals.

Anyone care who makes it, or now since the Wings are done is it pretty much the sentiment of who cares??

I think the media would want the Hawks and Pens and I think that will be the outcome. They are the Pens of two seasons ago stockpiled young talent, but their goal tending is their downfall and I feel they will do exactly what the Pens did two season's ago and lose in the final's to of course!

Another nail biter.

Fleury had his shutout till they decided to play Renegade with a minute to go - almost cost them the game.
Knock that off - save it for the Steelers.

Wearing them down, great hits all night. .Adams crushed a guy. Rupp and Geno had helluva good games. Letestu had some good scoring chances.

I don't know what's wrong with Sid, it's a mystery. This is Fleury's series now, It's all up to him.

I don't think there is anything wrong with Crosby, Gill is just playing him perfectly and Gill has 1 or 2 guys backing him up to keep Crosby in check.

The Habs came into this series with one thought and that was to contain Sid and the superstar's of this team and Gill and the defense have done one of the best job's I have seen at doing so, but the Pen's are just too much for the Hab, and when they think they have stopped the Pens, one of our third liner's pick up the slack and score a key goal!

Me or SteelCityMom? If you're reffering to me odds are pretty good the SC Final will be starting close enough to when Finals are over for me. (Not to mention when I am close to graduation of high school. But knowing how I am, I will likely still be up regardless of game time. I'd imagine if it's Pens or the Bruins against Sharks or Canucks, games will start at 9:00 ET. If it's Pens or Bruins vs. Hawks then it will be at 8:00 like last year.

Great Win last night. Played them tough from start to finish. Now FINISH THEM!!!!

A teenage Phillies fan was Tasered on Monday night after he ran onto the field during a game. This comes just a few weeks after an intoxicated Phillies fan vomited on an 11-year-old girl.

As we all know, these incidents are far from the first such displays by Philadelphia fans. We've come to the point that you almost expect something like this to happen if you go to a sporting event in Philadelphia.

Here's an incomplete history of previous boorish behavior by Philadelphia fans:

Aug. 21, 1949: Phillies fans shower the field with glass bottles in protest of an umpire's call. The Phillies forfeit the game to the New York Giants.

1960s: Fans routinely pelt All-Star Phillies third baseman Dick Allen with batteries -- to the point he begins to wear a batting helmet in the field.

Dec. 15, 1968: Fans infamously boo a man dressed as Santa Claus.

Jan. 6, 1972: Flyers fans pelt St. Louis coach Al Arbour with debris, causing Arbour and Blues players to enter the stands at the Spectrum to fight fans.

Dec. 10, 1989: Eagles fans pelt Dallas players and coaches -- and the broadcasting crew in the open television booth -- with snowballs. Future Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell purportedly is among the hooligans.

Aug. 10, 1999: Phillies fans litter the field with debris to show their displeasure with Cardinals outfielder J.D. Drew, who had previously been drafted by Philadelphia but refused to sign. Umpire Ed Montague confiscated two D-cell batteries that had been thrown at Drew.

Oct. 10, 1999: Eagles fans cheer as Dallas receiver Michael Irvin lies motionless on the field and when he is removed on a stretcher after what turned out to be a career-ending injury.

Nov. 23, 1997: In response to alcohol-fueled lawlessness at Eagles games, city officials establish a criminal court at Veterans Stadium.

March 29, 2001: A Flyers fan fights with Toronto right winger Tie Domi after falling into the penalty box during a heated exchange.

So, why is this such a problem specifically in the City of Brotherly Shove Love?

Page 2 has the answer. Our dubious network of sources has uncovered the "actual" fine print found on the back of Eagles, Phillies and Flyers tickets. (No one cares enough to act belligerent at a Sixers game.)

SPACEK MAY BE BACK, GILL A QUESTION MARK

BROSSARD, Que. -- Jaroslav Spacek appears likely to return to the Montreal Canadiens lineup for their must-win Game 6 against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Spacek skated with a few teammates at an optional practice Sunday and said he hopes to be back after missing nine games with a virus.

"I'm pretty close to playing," said Spacek. "We'll see what happens."

The Canadiens are scrambling for defencemen as they look to even their best-of-seven Eastern Conference series. Pittsburgh holds a 3-2 lead going into Game 6 on Monday night at the Bell Centre.

Veteran Hal Gill is a question mark after suffering a skate cut on his leg Saturday night. He stayed overnight in Pittsburgh after Montreal's 2-1 Game 5 loss to the Penguins for treatment of the cut suffered early in the third period from Chris Kunitz's skate. He returned Sunday, and coach Jacques Martin listed him as day to day.

Injured defencemen Andrei Markov and Paul Mara skated with a trainer but it remains unlikely either will play.

Hate to see Gill injured, but I totally agree.

I'm kinda nervous with that crazy crowd in Montreal and how it seems to feed into Halak's mind.

I don't want a game seven where anything can happen.

I want this to be over tomorrow night!

I still love the USS Gill and don't like to see him or any player injured, but I'm with you on this one! :drink: That would be a HUGE blow to the Habs D, as he pretty much has kept Sid in check this entire series.

Gotta give some credit to Bylsma for the win. He wanted a more physical game dressing Rupp and sitting Ponikarovsky and Fedotenko, and that's exactly what he got.

Now it's time to end this - pound them baby seal pup clubbers into dust

The majority of this team though has played in the finals 2 years in a row though. In this stage of hockey with more regular season games and longer playoff rounds, it's unreasonable to expect them to make the finals every year.

Even if they lose game 7 I don't think I'll freak out. Ok, maybe a little.

The majority of this team though has played in the finals 2 years in a row though. In this stage of hockey with more regular season games and longer playoff rounds, it's unreasonable to expect them to make the finals every year.

I'm proud of them no matter what happens.

Great post SCM. :applaudit: I"m totally with you here. I'll be proud of these guys no matter how this series (or the next) plays out.

Interference on Cookie - gotta hold strong here on the PK once again.

Keeping my fingers crossed. Come on Jose!!!

.by "freak out" i mean that crazy talk that the series is already over...

until it is obviously over with like a 4-1 deficit with 2 minutes to go in game 7, i always expect them to pull it out.

SHIT!!! @ the goal

and if not, i alway appreciate the free playoff hockey they have given me. :drink:

dammit... need to cram 2 goals down their throats. i was so confident this period would be ours.

Now those ignoramuses are chanting "Crosby sucks". They'd all have stiffies to have him on their team. :upyours:

Hitting the goalpost 3 times didn't help too much either I guess. Just didn't go the Pens way this game.

I'm confident about game 7 though. Fleury has been playing lights out after a loss for a long time now.

Once again, this is why you play for home ice advantage during the regular season - to have game 7 at home. Now history is not on the Pens' side in game 7s at home - they are just 2-4 all-time. But I think they're going to change history and pick up the win Wednesday night. I still have confidence they'll get the job done.

Stats schmats - why do you always put so much emphasis on what happened in the past, which has absolutely nothing to do with the present? :banging: Once again - history doesn't mean jack shit. It's the here and NOW.

You're right on one thing, though - the Pens will win in our house on Wednesday night.

Sorry I posted only a few times I had several family member's over for the game ehh bad luck!
Well hitting the post 3 times didn't help the Pens and it just wasn't their night I guess.

Thank God game 7 is at home and I hope the Pens remember how to win in the Igloo because they have no other choice. Ehh Tonight suck's, but they will get it done at home and right off these Habs.

I sure hope so at least I mean a team barely making the playoff's having an average sub par season beating the Craps and Pen's NO FREAKING WAY! It's all because they play that neutral zone trap shit that for some reason Pens suck against and it's troubling getting into the offensive zone.

Oh well im done complaining were winning game 7 I STILL BELIEVE!

LET"S GO PENS!

Just pointing it out, because that's all you're going to hear for the next 2 days, along with the Pens losing every game 7 after they lost game 6. The players are certainly going to hear about it. But I don't believe history is going to repeat itself here - the Pens will come ready to play and they're going to win. I feel it in my bones.

Here is how it goes.. If the Pirates win at home then the Pen's can also win on the same nite.. If the Pirates lose then the Pen's lose... We must root, root, root for our home team!!!

Not true!!! I say the Pirates are a hex on the Pens. When the Pens lost game 4 the Pirates won (and swept) against the Cubs 11-1.

Must root against the Pirates until the Pens win the cup! :flap:
