Updating a previous report, Don Henderson, agent for Pittsburgh Steelers PK Jeff Reed, said he has talked with the Steelers about a long-term deal for Reed and is optimistic the two sides can agree on something, reports Ed Bouchette, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. The Steelers have until July 15 to sign Reed to a long-term deal because they placed the franchise tag on him.

Yeah, I saw this on Facebook, I'll be fine with us keeping Reed for a few more years. Then we can get another kicker when that time comes. Or maybe, we could have Reed just kick field goals and have another younger kicker kick on kickoffs.

2 kickers on one team is a waste of roster space if you ask me
