I think it would be pretty cool if one year it was held in London or Hawaii. No matter where you go, it will sell out.

I think they will. New York is the media capital of the world. Biggest market in the NFL. In the end, I think it happens.

One case for it because of the cold/bad weather factor is that the AFC and NFC Championship Games can be decided in it, why not the Super Bowl.

why would it be cool to take the biggest game of the year away from the people whose dollars and support made the NFL what it is today ? the NFL doesn't exist because of europeans and euro's. i'd say that would be a huge slap in the face to diehard american NFL fans who's taxdollars built the stadiums they play in. .

I'm kind of torn on this one.

Its nice to see the games played on a level field, where weather isn't a factor and the talent wins out. Then again, a snow game would be fun, but that's what the playoffs and home field advatage are for.

I'm not sure, I think they should have capped the new stadium if they wanted to host a Super Bowl. Cold weather venues can get the game, its just a matter of having a peferct field.

Listening to sports radio today , it looks like the SuperBowl will come here ( Ny/NJ) in 2014. The only way it wont come is if Obama gets on a plane , travels to New York and root for us to get it.

The Ice Bowl

The Fog Bowl

I hope they get a blizzard and a white out at 30 below 0 and we don't have to play in it.

No running game = no win.

Makes for great tee-vee watching at home in front of your bigscreen, who needs offense when you gots drama.

Holmes would never have made that catch in driving rain, wind, sleet and snow.

We'd still be looking for #6.

Finally a cold weather Super Bowl. It would be very fitting for a football team to win the Super Bowl by toughing out the cold

get a 4wd and studded tires - - just to be safe - - in case you have to spend the night in a snowbank

OK - I'll gotto see the Steelers win their 10th SB ring. But that's it.

I'd be thrilled with a "frozen tundra" SB, if for no other reason than to keep the bull@#$% off the field at halftime. "Has been" "rockers' in Depends leave something to be desired.

The Super Bowl is an event-driven event...and all that surrounds it is almost as important as the game itself.

During the Detroit Superbowl...there were several events cancelled (and even a few flights) due to the threat of severe winter weather. Though they were expecting 9 inches of snow, they actually only recieved about 2 inches...having more problems with ice than snow.

Even the logistics of getting players and personnel from point "A" to point "B" on ice covered streets had to be daunting.

I'd like to see all the peripheral bull@#$% disappear and have them play a football game like they used to. Inclement weather would be a bonus.

It's not about the weather - it's about the money. Build a new billion dollar stadium and you too can get a SB.

Super Bowl may get name for Giants-Jets stadium

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP)—Landing the Super Bowl in 2014 should help the Giants and Jets finally put a name on their new $1.6 billion stadium.

Speaking at a news conference Wednesday, the owners of the two NFL teams said the selection of the stadium for the NFL championship game in roughly 3 1/2 years is bound to attract sponsors interested in seeing their company’s name on the 82,500-seat facility.

Some experts believe that the naming rights for the stadium located less than five miles New York City might fetch $20 million annually for the teams to split.

“It can’t hurt,” Giants co-owner John Mara said at the press conference at the stadium on Wednesday, less than 24 hours after NFL owners awarded the New York-New Jersey area the Super Bowl. “This is a positive factor. It makes it an even more attractive package, the potential naming rights part, but that will come.”

Until the naming rights are sold, the stadium will continue to be called the New Stadium at the Meadowlands

The Giants and Jets had naming rights negotiations with a German insurance company in September 2008, but talks ended when it was disclosed that Allianz once had ties to the Nazis. The deal could have been worth an estimated $30 million annually.
