View Full Version : What SB Gear Have You Purchased?

Atlanta Dan

Following Dan Marino's advice, I am not assuming another SB championship anytime soon is a given and am surfing sites for SB Champs gear.

So far I have ordered the locker room cap, locker room shirt, official DVD, a black & gold SB Champs stein from the Steelers store, and the Steelers commemorative issue (hardbound version) from Sports Illustrated (which supposedly will include not only photos/stories from this season but back stories/photos from the '70s champs).

Pondering whether to go for the SB champs fleece sweatshit and license plate frame.

Would be interested in hearing what other posters are buying.

Locker room cap, locker room shirt and SB XL key ring. That's all I plan on getting and all that I really wanted.

Where have people been buying from? Sometimes sports gear stores on the ol' internet can be less than reputable.

NFL.Com Store, Steelers official store & D***'s Sporting Goods web sites.

The one I am looking at isn't available yet (they expect it to be done at the end of the month). It is 24.99 on the NFL.com store.

I signed up for a new Sports Illuatrated subscription. You get the Steelers Super Bowl gift pack free! It includes the Super Bowl DVD, the hardbound commemorative book and a commemorative football. For about $85 you get all that and a years worth of SI.

Read all the fine print though. YOu have to use a credit card and they will renew the subscription without asking you at the end of a year. So be on your toes if you don't want it renewed.

I've bought... The locker room hat and 4 shirts (one for each member of my family), a pennant, license plate for the front of my car, and 4 new Terrible towels.

whered you order the dvd from? im sure amazon would have it too right? i just wanna make sure i get the official and not no bootleg offa ebay

Ordered the DVD (which ships separately later this month), which came with the T-shirt and cap (which have shipped), as part of a SB champs combo pack from NFL.com.

The DVD will not be the full ABC broadcast, but is described as "The official full-length highlight DVD of Super Bowl XL. See behind the scenes action, NFL season highlights, pre-game predictions, post-game analysis. Much more than you saw on game day. (Approx. 3 hours in length)." Probably includes a lot of the Game of the Week highlights I have been watching on NFL Network this season.

Ordering all 3 together saved a couple $$.

The illegal resale of the copyrighted ABC broadcast is available on E-Bay. Someday it will be sensibly explained to me why the NFL will not sell DVDs of the actual game broadcasts (as Fox did of the baseball playoffs to diehard RedSox fans I know). Because the NFL won't do it, EBay is ready when you are :)

I will be ordering the gray hat the players wore and probably a couple shirts.

Does anyone know where I could possibly get the program for the New Years Day home game (Jerome's last game in Heinz Field)? My friend and I came up for the game and he's upset that we didn't get a program before we left so I'd love to surprise him with it as part of a Valentine's Day gift.

I got the hat and shirts plus I ordered the Sports Illustrated Steeler deal with the Steeler Book, DVD and Football. I don't read SI so my son will get all of the issues.

Also picked a few Steeler Superbowl Pennants and a Superbowl XL Ticket holder and lanyard at the parade.

I also went out of my way to get as many newpapers from the local towns in my area as the day after the game, also got a few commemorative Pittsburgh Post Gazette editions of the celebration parade.

I ordered the locker room t shirt, the super bowl dvd, and the collectors edition program. I am not sure what the difference is between the two programs. I went to look it up after a friend asked and could no longer find it on nfl.com. The program I ordered was $20.00 and the other was $15.00. Guess I'll find out when I get it, hopefully tomorrow. I wanted to buy more stuff, but once I get start I can't stop. I'm lucky I stopped when I did. I saw some super bowl book for sale on nfl.com for 40K, let me know who is buying that thing.

my brother just got his masters degree in metalsmithing at UTEP and since he specializes in silver i am having a lifesize replica of the lombardi made and engraved.

just kidding. but it is a good idea and he could easilly do a pretty awesome replica. im sure tiffany's wouldnt bee too happy but they would never have to see it.

hmmm... i wonder what the penalty is for bootlegging and selling sb trophies?

..... well..... I have to amend my earlier statement about 'not-getting-any SB-XL-stuff'.....
:dang:

My girlfriend stopped at Giant Iggle this morning after church, and picked-up the SI Commemorative Issue, a Street & Smith Commemorative Issue (BOTH of-which I'd highly-recommend to any die-hard Stiller fan ), and a Stiller front license plate for our up-coming trip to Florida, as Valentine's Day gifts for me:
I think SHE became a 'one-week-fan', and it's MY job to keep her a fan for-life!

I got the Super Bowl Game Program in the mail today. I got the collectors edition and figured out its no different than the other one (shouldn't order stuff while drunk). It's the same magazine as the one on nfl.com, but this one is a collectors edition because its silver instead of blue and says exclusive stadium collection at the bottom. Same content but $5.00 more. Still cool though. My t shirt should be here tomorrow and be waiting for the dvd. I want to get the Steelers Book too.

I've purchased anything I could get my hands on just about.

Except for that World Champions hooded sweatshirt (the one worn in the parade).

Its a great looking hoodie.. but i refuse to pay 55 bucks for light cotton, not made too well. haha.. Anyway, if I'm going to pay that much I'll happily buy another steelers jersey. Can't have enough of those
