So I'm a big fan of the option offense and thus took a liking to Dwyer while at GA Tech the past couple of years. Heard (via announcers in Lions game) that he's had a rough camp thus far and then he appeared to get injured in the 4th. Anyone hear anything about his injury? I'm in Kansas and thus don't get the same news as you all probably do. I'd really like to see him run with the first or second team sometime this preseason. I know the guy can play if healthy and given the right opportunity. Guess we'll see.

I dont remember anything about an injury, but hes had a REALLY rough camp/preseason, to say the least. He has a lot of upside but at this point Isaac Redman has blown past him on the depth chart, and it doesn't look like he'll make the team. Unless he really comes out and blows people away in the next few preseason games, it looks like he'll be practice squad this year. There's a small chance if he gets his game together he could still make the roster as a fullback, but it's not likely. I think with a year on the practice squad, however, he could adjust to our offense and come back next year with the same talent he displayed at GT

he had a slight injury and missed some camp. he is a really good rb and will probably help the team next year if he stays motivated but i really doubt he does much of anything this season unless he really picks it up

I heard a report on ESPN that said the coaches thought he was on the heavy side and out of shape. If that is the case, boy what a case of the lazzies ... everyone is pulling for him and he's out of shape?

He was definitely overweight once he arrived at camp, via Mike Tomlin. This probably contributed to him straining his Hamstring which further slowed his development. I'm not too worried right now. My hope is by working out in the heat, and just some good eating he will drop a quick 10 Lbs or so, and will show better the next 2 weeks. If not, and Redmen continues to shine, Dwyer might get Cut!

Dwyer reported his injury as a stinger, he should be fine and get more playing time in the pre-season but he better start waking up and take it one step at a time before he gets caught up in bad fortune. I'm rooting for him to have a strong pre-season from here on forward.
