I've given up on the football program at Boston College. The only reason they can't produce a top 10 team 50% of the time is because the administration won't let them recruit who they have to recruit. Too bad. I love big time college ball.

You don't have to lower your standards with every recuit, but a few here and there, and bingo you're a top 10 team. What's the point in playing a schedule like that and not trying to win it all every so many years?

BC has been in a tough position recently b/c its been on the verge of becoming both an elite academic and football university. There'll be a give and take for the next few years between the Provost/Alumni who want a top 25 academic ranking and the Athletic Dept/Alumni who want top 10 football ranking. All I can say is that it makes the wins all the more sweeter when they happen.
