View Full Version : So who do you think lost their roster spot tonight?

Hartwig for sure has lost his spot (in my mind) and there's no way Dixon gets the starting position now.

hartwig is gone for sure, or at very least, no longer the starter.

dixon still has a shot because leftwich going 0-4 is really not impressive either.

grisham finally doesn't make the practice squad

i would say logan before this game, but he made a couple of good special teams tackles

man a lot of tough decisions......

cutting hartwig

keeping Dwyer

Logan

ect..ect

Dwyer and Logan both made cases for themselves tonight, which makes it difficult...Surely we cant keep 5 RBs, 6 WRs, AND Logan...

I didnt get to watch the game tonight, only heard parts on the radio while at work. Did Frank Summers do anything? Is he projected to stay on the roster or is Isaac Redman officially becoming the FB for the Pony backfield?

For me Players that look like they could be headed out:

Frank Summers: What does he do the Redman cant? Maybe PS him.

Dwayne Wright: Was he even on the field tonight? Again nothing Redman cant do.

Justin Hartwig: See ya. Thanks for you time but Pouncey is head and shoulders better.

Jonathan Scott: Another below average performance tonight

Doug Worthington: Hard for me to diss a Buckeye but he got manhandeled tonight on the d-line. A year on the PS will do him some good

Arnaz Battle: Sure hasn't made that much of a special teams impact

Guys who looked good:

Jon Dwyer: Made a good case to be the last running back on the 53 man

Stephon Logan: Didn't do much in returns but looked good in coverage. Maybe makes the team over Battle.

I hope Butler makes the team over either Gay/Lewis/Burnett

I think he has way more potential then all of those guys

My guess is we carry six corners. Ike, B-Mac, Gay, Lewis, Burnett and Butler.

dwyer has now thrown a wrench into things. logan-good coverage, but gone. lewis will stay, but hes ****ed for right now. mundy-gone. hartwig, prob gone. battle-gone. beyond that, i dont know. i still havent figured out exactly the mindset behind tomlin. i have a general idea, but not sure enough to call it.

everybody was sure redman was a roster lock last year too...howd that work out ?
infact, one poster here even predicted he'd take the starting spot from mendenhall, cause he had "suddeness , and gliiiiiiide" .....:sofunny:

Sorry, but Dwyer played against the 3rd or 4th stringers of the other team. He looked ok, but I don't think he makes the squad. Practice sqaud at best. Brown made some pretty stupid mistakes out there. Sanders didn't go to the ball which led to a pick. Almost everyone except Timmons screwed up out there tonight. This will be a tough one for the coaches to figure out. I suspect that almost all of the veterans make the team and the also rans and a lot of rookies are gone or on the practice squad. I don't know what to think about Adams. He needs to be released but there is no one any better. Looks like a long season for the offense.

I believe Hartwig is done, Arnaz, and Grisham as well. I believe Emmanuel will make the cut but really need to run his routes much better especially his comeback patterns. Must remember to come back to the ball and fight for it.

What led to the pick was a poor decision to throw the ball to Sanders. There was no separation between him and the corner and him stopping to come back just made it worse. Dixon threw to him on the same play earlier that was nearly picked off too. He is lucky to have only 2 picks as ridiculous as that sounds. He could have easily had 4 with another returned to the house.

He did, it just took a bad bounce upwards and he also fell. If DD wants to complete that pass he needs to have more zip on his ball. He's throwing velocity is wretched.

Poor Lakelander... :toofunny:

I do think Lewis lost his chance to start. I think he was being considered for playing opposite of Ike, but he screwed the pooch tonight...

Brown really hurt himself with stupid Special team play.

they usually put Moore back there when the punt is close to the goal line. but in all honesty, it's basic knowledge to know you stand in front of the 10 and then run forward if the ball is going to sail over your head.

Hoping Urbik & Dywer can show something in the last game, would love to see Urbik take over the RG hole. He can't be much worse than Essex in pass blocking, & he has shown he can still be a mauler in the run game, same as Adams. I wouldn't give up on him too soon, he's only played the position for a few weeks. When he gets on his man it's over, I think he will improve his footwork & assignements as the season progresses.

I can't see Brown, Dwyer, or Logan making it through to the PS, Summers np, Worthington probably. Not exactly the problem they thought they would be having, otherwise they wouldn't have signed some of these free agents. Too much depth & young talent at other positions, don't have the luxury of keeping an extra O linemen unless we short in TEs or...???

Id like to see them keep Hills & try him at LT, Starks at RT, & move Adams to RG, unless Urbik shows he can handle that responsibility.

Hopefully my nick is prophetic :)
