I don't see how it could be true. Goodell would look like a complete moron.

I thought about that happening which would be total crap if true. Ben then wouldn't get the by week to practice with the team for his first game, which would give him 2 weeks to prepare.
If Goodell does this, I'd like to know exactly what Ben had to do to get 4. By all accounts, including Goodell's, Ben has done more than what's been asked of him.

this is why you cant believe what you read on the internet. until i hear it from goodell, i am sticking with a 6 game suspension. i mean heck, i could go on the internet and say that goodell lifted the suspension all together and see how fast that takes off.

Goodell praised Roethlisberger for the way he's reshaping his life after meeting with the quarterback in early August and said the NFL would continue to monitor his progress before making a final decision on how long the suspension would be.

A reduction would allow Roethlisberger to play Oct. 17 at home against Cleveland rather than Oct. 31 at New Orleans.

"I'm very encouraged by what he's doing," Goodell said. "I'll take the period of time that I have before making the decision and make it probably right before the regular season."

Asked what the league still needs to see, Goodell said, "He's got to work through the program that's designed for him to help him. A lot of that is confidential, but he's done it and he's done it with enthusiasm. I think that's a good thing."

To me that sounds like a 4 game or less

I saw this on profootballtalk.com, and thought that it may have merit. Wise writes for the Washington Post, so I would guess that he is somewhat credible. However, one of the "posters" on the site commented that they were listening to Wise's radio show, and he said that he thew that out their on Twitter, to see if anyone was gullible enough to run with the story. Apparently, surprise, surprise,... Mike Florio was...
