I'd rather deal with that than deal with Ben's off the field stuff. When both are available to play I'd still take Ben since he's got those 2 Super Bowl rings.

I've been hard on Ben, but the one thing I've always admired about him is that he doesn't bark at his receivers when they make a mistake or don't bring in a catch.

Can't stand quarterbacks like Rivers - and Brady does this too - who get pissy.

Would love to see it switched around and someone in their faces everytime they make a mistake.

Afterall, it goes both ways yet you never see it.

Ben has, by his own admission, chewed out receivers before. It's a side to football some don't like but every effective QB, like every effective general, has their own style. Some are more in your face than others. That chargers team is Rivers team, if he isn't calling
people out someone else is gonna do it at
Least he leads from the top and
By example.

Nice, SCMom...that was exactly the video I was going to post a link to-- living in Charger-land, I was particularly amused (although all the Charger fans I was with were not for some reason).

Another funny video that I have been looking for and haven't been able to find was Phillip Rivers' temper tantrum he threw in 2007 when the Pats were on game 2 of their 18-1 season. I recall he got sacked by (I think it was Bruschi), and got up off the ground having a tantrum, and went to kick at the sod or something and totally tripped and ate it-- landed on his bottom in mid-hissy-fit in front of millions of TV viewers....priceless.

It's all fine and dandy for a QB to show intensity once in awhile, but could you imagine Phillip Rivers in Bens situation in the Super Bowl? Those guys don't want to see their leader come in the huddle kicking the dirt crying and screaming. If anything you want them to be cool and full of composure. This might be one of the reasons why S.D doesn't make it further than the 2nd round of the playoffs yearly.

Well, you do see it, but normally from the likes of TO and Muchostinko, who are obviously full of themselves. But to your point, why are the QBs never full of themselves when they do it?
