The inevitable happened..we all saw it coming. Tommy's salary and lack of performance gets him a pink slip..and Willie, the savy veteran's salary was too much too..

Damn!!! This team could have used a pot smoking moron who bails out on his team, organization and fans.

Hopefully the Rooney's can make a deal. We all know he's the the type of player that this organization drools at the mouth over.

im glad willie contributed and got a ring. his tackle against lamont warren earned it as far as im concerned, and i guess t. maddox deserves his too. he did start for the team making less than most back ups and had a great comeback against the browns.

No doubt. Willie's veteranship was a nice asset to have during this past season.

So do we draft a qb late in the draft or do we pick one up in free agency???

when maddox got cut I danced around the house. I think we get a qb in the free agent pool.

If I were you, I wouldn't pull a groin over the guy. Did you happen to watch the Steelers vs Jaguars game? lol.

Who do you all think will pick Maddox up?

State Farm's looking a little heavy right now, IMHO, & Geico is throwing some pretty good packages at candidates, I'm hearing.

OK, that was bad. I just don't see him wearing a uniform again.

I think alot of it depends on what happens with ARE.. if we can keep him, then we'd probably draft a guy late on day 2.. if we cant, look for us to go into FA for a journeymen backup with experience.

Yay! Tommy's gone! :dancing: I think we all stuck a fork in him and said he was done. Maybe some arena football league will pick him up. Or the Ravens... :sofunny:

NICE! UCSACWHIEHEF or whatever. lol

possible destinations for tommy? theres the obvious miami connection, but im thinking with dan reeves working in the front office of the texans and tony banks being cut (wasnt tommy a teammate of gary kubiak, im not sure) that he may be a texan.

I am sooooo glad Maddox is gone.If he wasn't cut,I was gonna hitch hike to The Burgh, stick a for sale sign in his yard, and throw him in a damn river of his choice.

Willie may be back again? I wonder . . . If the CBA is extended - we may have the chance to re-sign him for vet money ???. . . he'd be a good guy to have around in camp at least and if the worst came to the worst and a couple of injuries hit us at corner, I can think of a lot worse guys to stick in there at nickel or even start at a push . . . as long as he still has the legs next season . . . (ie if say Townsend's gone and we have injuries to Ike and McFadden . . . )

And Tommy . . . I know he played some horrible games at the back end of his career, but remember the upgrade he gave us at QB that first season and a bit starting . . . for the first time for years, I still had some hope in that first season we could come from behind to win with the clock ticking down on offense . . . more confident than when Kordell or Kent Graham tried to rally us anyway . . . best of luck to him in the future . . .
