Excellent! I don't care what anyone thinks about his politics either...this is quite the honor for Ward, and a great pick by Obama to have Ward as a member of this advisory commission.

I gotta say, this is a great thread title too. At first glance I definitely didn't think it was about what it was going to be about. :chuckle:

Yes...and let's hope as Hines hopes that a biracial half black half Asian person can be well loved and equally treated even when not a superstar football player.

Wide receiver Hines Ward said he will travel to the White House for Tuesday's appointment to President Barack Obama's Advisory Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. Ward, who was born to a Korean mother and black father, developed the Hines Ward Helping Hands Foundation that assists mixed-race children who face discrimination. "I'm excited and a little nervous. It's a huge honor,'' Ward said Friday. "I'll be a spokesman, do (public-service announcements). That's what my foundation is all about anyway. (I'll) just look at it from a broader view all over America and the world.''

It's a credit to the membership here (except MOP) that this thread has remained relatively free of politics. Congratulations to one of my favorite players.

Yes. But in this case I used the edit button. I vowed to only use my powers for good.
