View Full Version : The Steelers can only get better

If the Steeler's D can just stay constant, the Steelers can only get better. The offense has been lacking, but Charlie Batch showed the real effectiveness of the offense. The offensive line has been like a shuffled deck. Porous at time and brilliant at other. The back ups are getting great experience. That should pay dividends in the long haul.

After the trade of Holmes, I was worried about the receivers, too old, too inexperienced, too weak. It looks like the receivers are holding their own. They too appear to only get better. Teams have again let Mike Wallace run free. They may start doubling up. That should free up Ward and speedster Brown, if the Steelers can get him on the field.

Tip drill. Someone has been playing hot potato in practice if Keisel can ramble 79 yards after a pick. It still seems that Ike Taylor can get the buttter off his fingers. The Steelers had only one pick going into the last game last season. Now, that've got about a half dozen. What an improvement.

Teams peak at different times of the year. Steelers' opponents will be trying to crack Le beau's iron curtain. There is still plenty of room for the Steelers to improve. That's what is scary.

We have a lot of tough teams coming up after the bye week (sans the Clowns) Once we are in that three game stretch on the road, we will see what this team is really made of. Thank heavens we will have Ben back. But we survived the first three weeks without a blemish without him but the offense has been plain ugly at times. There is certainly room for improvement on that side of the ball and Ben is the answer.

You can't get much better than a 3-0 record, but I know what you mean.

Just have to avoid major injuries on the D. If the D stays healthy this team is a monster.
