Steelers Talk About Hot Start Without Roethlisberger

Members of the Steelers defense are glad to be 3-0, but not surprised. Linebacker James Harrison said the ability of his teammates to step up in Ben Roethlisberger's absence is all about playing as a team and picking each other up.

"Just because Ben isn't there, he's not the whole team," linebacker James Harrison said. "He's a big part of this team, no question, but he's not the whole team. He's not going to determine if we win or lose a game. It may be something that may be a contributing factor, but the next guy in line is just a starter in waiting, and that's how we look at everything."

Lineman Chris Kemoeatu talked even more glowingly about working together as a team.

"That's the great thing about this, it's a family, a brotherhood. No matter what happens to each other, we're all we got and we have to stick together. Stuff like that happens all the time around the league, all we can do is support each other. Whether it's stuff on the field, off the field, we have to support each other."

There have been a lot of rumors in the past about whether the older, veteran Steeler locker room was divided and not as cohesive as you would like a football team to be. While you can't base much off a few quotes, the play on the field during Ben absence suggests the team has at least come together enough to do great things on the field.

I just hope they stay this way when Ben comes back. It'll be a big disrespect to Steeler Nation if they do not play like this. We all know they are capable. Now how about some Raven meat? How do you like it?
