So based solely on the accusations, and of course being a military captain versus an arrogant self promoting owner, what will Goodell do? Can he do anything?

He didn't wait for anything to really play out with BB, and when it played out that there wasn't enough, BB got slammed. Here you have on tape, a drunken owner :drink: and so the story goes.

A couple things I find a bit fishy about the story (and not saying the girl is lying, or that Jerry definitely did it) is that she claims she was "given enough GHB to put her in a coma". A typical side effect of GHB is extensive memory loss. She sure seems to remember some pretty accurate details for someone given that much GHB.

I find the restraining orders against her quite suspicious as well. Doesn't sound to me like she's going to have a lot to stand on.

That said, if he did it, or if there is an investigation, he should be punished accordingly by Goodell. He did set the dangerous standard with Ben and will look like a total hypocrite if he doesn't stand by those standards now.

Just observations. Not calling it either way.

Goodell fined Bellichik and and he fined the Titans coach yesterday that flipped the bird.

Nice how ESPN is getting the story out.

You know this story might be a load of shit, I hope it is in fact. But it's funny how a woman who achieved the rank of Air Force Captain is totally dismissed yet a drunken sorority girl who changed her story multiple times, then stopped cooperating with authorities, hjer second day account is taken as gospel by so many. :banging:

Who's dismissing it?

ESPN doesn't even have it on their web site. Neither does Fox sports or Sports Illustrated. Goodell probably will hire a hypnotist to convince the woman she mistook Big Ben for Jerra. :chuckle:

Wow...I'm uber surprised that Florio hasn't said a word about it yet. He's usually right on top of the rumors and would sell his soul to get a few extra hits. That really shocks me.

Woman in Jerry Jones Case Has History of Legal Cases Involving Celebs

A Texas woman known to subpoena celebrities in various court cases over the years submitted a handwritten filing in federal court (http://frontburner.dmagazine.com/2010/10/01/jerry-jones-hit-with-sexual-assault-suit/) that alleges she was assaulted by Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones -- a document that could put 51-year-old Patricia Gavin in more legal jeopardy than Jones.

Officials at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas have sealed that filing, which was distributed all over the internet on Monday. The filing is not considered a lawsuit and Gavin told FanHouse that she is representing herself as she seeks $500 million plus attorney fees.

A source with knowledge of the case said the Jones' representatives will ask the U.S. Attorney's Office to charge Gavin with making a false claim.

Citing the frivolous nature of the case, both the Cowboys and the firm Jones hired to win a protection order against Gavin declined to comment. Jones was granted the protection order in state court last month (http://frontburner.dmagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/gavinrestrain.pdf) which prohibits Gavin "from contacting or attempting to contact" Jones or any member of his family.

As part of the protection ruling, Gavin is required to pay Jones' legal fees in the case that total $5,000. To pay for the legal fees, Gavin said she attempted to contact billionaire investor Warren Buffett. She's attempted to subpoena real estate tycoon Donald Trump among others in previous litigation.

"I wrote to Warren Buffett to see if he liked to buy my cowboy boots," Gavin said in a phone interview on Monday. "He could auction them off to pay the attorney fees."

Gavin refused to discuss the details of her alleged run-in with Jones, which, coincidently, she claims took place on the same night an inebriated Jerry Jones was caught in camera on footage that originated on Deadspin last April (http://backporch.fanhouse.com/2010/04/14/jerry-jones-possibly-drunk-has-some-words-for-bill-parcells-t/).

a sexual assault accusation.. so what's the penalty going to be Goodell? allegations are apparently all that is needed to hand out a punishment in the NFL.. no matter how ridiculous they are.

I don't think he can legally be punished because he's an owner for this situation. He can't really be suspended. Any fine the NFL gives him is like worthless because of how rich he is. They would never do anything to the team itself because the stadium is gonna be used for the next superbowl and many more to come.
