Heh.. looks like we picked up a project at full-back. It's always entertaining to see how these work out.

Neither of them will make the team. Probably allocate one to the practice squad.

Of course we have Krieder...he's our secret weapon. Underpaid. Overworked. Out of the spotlight. And he's got to be loving every minute of it.

That's the truth. When his name is announced at Heinz the crowd errupts, but outside of that stadium he's hardly ever talked about and rarely does interviews. Quiet. Underrated. Does his job and does it damn well. A true Steeler.

Brandon Joe is an excellent Fullback...if he's in shape, and gets to compete for a spot, he could make the team. If not, he'll probably be signed to the practice squad. The Steelers always like to keep a backup FB around.

Great blocker and a great kid. Oh did I mention that he runs a 4.5 40 yard dash. That's amazing for a bruising fullback.

Re: Branden Joe

SI.com says 4.84 40 and rates him 3.1 out of a possible 6.0. That rating = practice squad in their rating system.

Bill Cowher attended Ohio State's "pro day" this week at which time Brandon Joe worked out for the scouts. Cowher and the Steelers indicated that Brandon Joe ran a 4.58 40 yd dash. I don't want to dispute the great S.I. but I know what was said about Joe after the latest workout.

I hope SI is wrong. 4.58 is much better - and as said elsewhere, the 40 isn't the best indicator. Seems the Steelers scouting has been able to put their finger on those intangibles that make up great productive players.

The great SI....that's funny.
