this is just for fun and there is no right or wrong answer. but list one player (if you could snag him) that you think could immediately fill a hole, would be an upgrade, or someone you just want to see in the black and gold. why you would chose them?

there are alot of great players but im gonna start off with someone who is not even a superstar. out of all players right now i want:

Matt Jones. he would be the perfect replacement for randle el. minus all the returns jones would bring an added dimension to the steelers offense even moreso than el. the heighth with him playing the slot matched up with heath miller would be devestating for defenses. the trick plays would be as good as ever and we would have the height at wr to finally replace plex. with willie, hines, cedric, and heath, matt could line up in the slot or at te as an extra blocker or decoy. those 5 on the field would be formidable.

Peyton Manning ... just so I could see his ugly, annoying, overpaid a** ride the bench behind Ben.

That's a good one.

It'd be worth a few mil against the cap just to see it.

Larry Johnson,he'd fit that hole at RB really nice.

And for the record,I do like Fast Willie.I think he just wore down as the year went on.He wasn't a starter in college,so this was the most action he got in a LONG time.At the begining of the season he showed that he can run with some power.I think with conditioning and having a season under his belt he can run with speed and power all season this year,or at least I hope he can.

I would have chosen Larry Johnson if he didn't get arrested for domestic abuse assault on his girlfriend this past year. Johnson was also charged in December 2003 with aggravated assault, a felony, and misdemeanor domestic battery for allegedly brandishing a gun during an argument with an ex-girlfriend at his home. Guy seems like a low-life scumbag if you ask me.

I know you guys are going to hate me, but I would choose Chad Johnson. I mean, he is a very athletic player who is very talented and gets along well with the fans. He is very entertaining. Lol, I think he would be a great fit here. Think about it!

I definitely wouldn't hate on you for suggesting that. He's a premier talent in the game (I'll contend with anyone why I would rather have Chad Johnson over TO or Moss any day). I just don't think he'd fit in well on the Steelers. Too much vertical ability to pass up, and that would force a run-oriented offense into situations where they feel compelled to get him the ball. Same thing happened in Minnesota with Randy.

What about Jonathon Vilma? He's an ILB fit a bit better for the 3-4. Solid tackler, tough player.

All very fine choices. I would like to throw one more into the mix - Lavar Arrington. To bad the Steelers are deep at linebacker(as well as the salary cap implications). The biggest need in my mind is power at the running back position, so I will have to say LT 2.0.

Lofa Tatupu. He stepped in as a rookie and became one of the most critical defensive components of the NFC champion.

Tomlinson on offense. (runner-up LenDale White)

I would love to see White in a Steelers unifrom although it will not be possible unless we are planning on moving up, but wont happen. He would be a perfect fit and so we could get Staley out of here. Even if Staley has a good year this year, he is just too injury prone and it would be nice in my opinion to have someone in the wings to take over as a power back when needed. I wouldnt evne mind brining in Davenport from GB if he is not signed and we dont get who we dont get that type of runner in the draft.

We shoul,d have taken Dayne when he was available from the Giants. I alwaysl iked him and thought he got a bum deal in N.Y... alot of my buddies didnt though and thought he was a bust. He may be back to second or third string in Denver though if Denver takes a RB at number 15.
